This short series is an amusing little bon-bon of English village life, and what happens when a proposed road is planned to run right through the local squire's manor.
Seeing "progress" as a threat to his way of life, the squire, his wife, and servant [Blott} declare war on the road builders.
David Suchet later went on to fame as Hercule Poirot.
