EDIT
Part One
AIRED:
Lady Maud Lynchwood wants her husband Sir Giles MP to provide her with an heir to the family home. When he refuses to ever touch her, she decides that they must divorce, so she can find someone who will. They both consult solicitors, but a reversionary clause in the house sale contract makes their mutual desire to keep Handyman Hall complicated. Lady M approaches Blott, the gardener/chaffeur for help. Sir Giles goes to the Minister for Transport and suggests that a Motorway could be routed across the Hall, so she can't have it. At the Public Enquiry in Wolford about the motorway proposal, a riot starts resulting in Lord Leakham being stoned and the market place at being burnt to the ground. Lady M is arrested.moreless

  • In this first episode of the mini series, we meet the eponymous Blott, who is a general handyman and loyal to his mistress, Lady Maud Lynchwood.

    8.3
Lady M wants a family, but her husband of convenience (married to pay for repairs to Handyman Hall, her family home) doesn't want to touch her. He has a 'lady' friend in London. She will dress up and spank him and pander to his perversions.

LAdy M is about to lock horns with her MP husband Sir Giles over her families' stately pile. Blott is clearly a mystery. Lady Maud doesn't know anything about him, other than he was a refugee that her father gave a job. He can change his accent and knows how to set up a phone tap. His hideout is the greenhouse. It would seem that he lives in the victory arch gatehouse.

The set up is quintessentially English, and many allusions are made to the British ways of life. For example Sir Gile's predeliction for being spanked is, he says, down to having a nanny and going to public school.

Lady M. bares a breast when whe is arrested in the way of feminists burning their bras.

This episode introduces us to the personal feud of the Lynchwoods with the bigger environmental issue of needing more roads, yet preserving the countryside. Inspite of this series being 20 years old, it is still a relevant issue today.moreless
