  • Good sign that the first three episodes of an anime are good. Will it maintain this quality?

Three episodes into this anime and it's already getting deep into the character development stuff. Although it seems like this is a show aimed more at young teens, it is still fairly enjoyable to people of older ages. How the show is already selling the rivalry between Shu and Jiro and has done a good job of executing it. It also covered another problem of Jiro's impatience in battle with his battle against Dolsk, and to see him turn it around in the same battle shows how stubborn, yet smart he is as a character. How he strategically defeated Dolsk made the fight pretty exciting.moreless

  • QUOTES (2)

    • Zola: First of all, you need to understand what a shadow is completely.
      Shu: Yeah, show me!
Zola: A shadow is very different from you. While... It's a part of you. It's difficult to explain in words. But think that to use it, is like when you peel off your skin. (Shu looks at his shadow) What's wrong?
Shu: Well... I didn't understand at all!

    • Shu: Seriously... What the... HECK IS GOING ON?! Wait! How did things turn out like this? Isn't it so unfair?
Jiro: If you got a problem, just go home. We don't need someone who's not helpful.
Shu: Shut up! I wasn't asking you.
Zola: Don't get so angry... You're carrying all of this so your body gets stronger. We're not trying to be hard on you.
Shu: That's the reason? If that's so, then I'll show you that I can do it! YEAH... I CAN DO IT! (runs forward)
      Kluke: He's optimistic as usual.
(Shu trips on rock and falls)
      Jiro: Idiot...
