AIRED:
The cops attempt to come to terms with what appears to be Tom's death. Amy suspects suicide but PJ thinks otherwise and, upon learning that Tarni Baxter had no idea of the accident, the two are set back a bit as to who committed the murder. What they don't expect is to find Tom alive in a seedy hotel, and although they attempt to help him, they soon realise that he may have been responsible for the death of whoever it was in his car. PJ and Kelly attempt to prove Tom's innocence but Amy and Roy think he may have gone over the edge. When they discover that Roy Holland is missing, it becomes likely that his body was in the car, and the knowledge that Tom suspended him, and that Roy may have suspected Tom of planting drugs on Ryan Dekker, leads Mark to accuse Tom of murder. Tom, meanwhile, is crazy with rage. He threatens Tarni by promising to plant her hair on the car and implicate her. However Shayleen Burke soon confesses that her father killed Roy after he discovered everything about their relationship. While Mark and Amy apologise to PJ and Tom, the others head to Chris's Christmas party where Jonesy - playing Santa - meets Susie under the mistletoe and they kiss. Tom breaks down to PJ and the two talk about life, and PJ begins to believe the old Tom is coming back. At the Christmas party, he says as much to Mark. However, arriving home to get changed for the Christmas party, Tom finds Digger's corpse hung up in his house and goes to Tarni's place where he ties up Ryan and gives chase to the girl, who falls in the river. Tarni can't swim and begs for his help but first Tom forces a confession out of her about Digger's death. Then, as she starts drowning, he puts his foot on her head and pushes down...moreless

  • Tom is suspected dead...It turns out to be Roy

I was happy to see that slimy Sgt Holland cark it, but that wasn't worth it: I seriously think that he deserved an ESD investigation and to have his rank stripped and career ended -- that would teach him not to mess with the Mt Thomas coppers!!! The fact that he did die was partly unsatisfying...he tried to rape Kelly, he deserved life imprisonment! As for the whole Tom issue, man, I really don't blame the poor sod!! Everything he went through...Tarni deserved it though, little cow. I would have slit her throat given the chance! What sicko would murder somebody's subordinates, blow up his station, kill the mentally disabled guy who did nothing to anybody, rape and kill the victim's wife, kill his dog and leave the poor thing lying where the victim can find it, and then string the body up in the guy's house? I am sorry but that is sick...But it did make for an interesting storyline for Tom!moreless
  • A season finale which left you waiting for the next season opener.

If the start of this episode was not dramatic enough the end really finished it. We are still exploring the change that has come over Tom Croydon n the last few months since the bombing. Firstly he is suspected of being dead then he is suspected of being a murderer in an investigation that is not clear or easily defined. We start to see the old Tom come back but then that is all stopped with Tom finding Digger strung up. The dying moments see Tom pushing Tarni's had underwater but viewers have no idea of what to expect when season 12 returns and questions lie but there is one thing for sure after watching this episode without knowing about the future episodes you will be left wondering and very intrigued.moreless
