  • The Heelers have a day in court –PJ is the witness in the case where a local Member of Parliament is involved in a bomb hoax. But when the prosecutor falls sick, Maggie must stand in. A well done ep, but not a series classic...moreless

    This review contains moderate spoilers.

The series really felt to be experimenting with new things at this point. After the (excellent) comedy 'The Mongrel Factor' in the previous episode, here we get a courtroom drama.

It's reasonable, but I'm glad they didn't do this type of effort too often. As usual, it is the cast, and the character moments, that make it, as to be honest, I found the actual court case to get a bit dull later on.

Much more fun is Wayne buying the motorbike from the broke defendant from another court case; though I'm not sure if this thread will continue in following episodes, as it never really felt to reach its conclusion.

Not much more to say on this one. It's well executed, but nothing special. I give it a 7.5.moreless

    • Goof - In this episode Maggie is prosecuting Stephen Meredith who is alleged to have committed a crime on 14th April. A package disguised as a bomb was sent to a Green Party MP on 14th April. However Episode 52 Heavy Traffic (Season 2 Episode 7) supposedly happens on 15th April where a good friend of Nick's is killed. In Heavy Traffic nothing is mentioned at all concerning the fake bomb package and the police's intention to prosecute. Wayne is in court as a witness to the 14th April events, whereas in Heavy Traffic he spends the days around 15th April learning the Traffic duties with Constable Jason Wallace.
