A doctor is found dead, and the Heelers are on the hunt for the killer. At first, suspicion falls on the husband of a woman who died as a result of the doctor's negligence, then onto his two daughters; one who cared for him all his life with little acknowledgement, the other, a drug-addict who was always the father's favorite.
Heartbreakingly, the drug-adicted daughter, Rowena, has a ten-year-old son who is doing it tough trying to protect her. The episode ends with a tough realisation of the life she has to provide for him, and a heartbreaking - but ultimately needed - decision that I found to be both touching and heartbreaking.
The culprit for the soctor's murder seemed a little contrived for me, but it was still buyable.
Meanwhile, Jo is worried she'd pregnant, and she and PJ struggle to deal with it. In the end it turns out to be a 'false alarm; but, having watched the series sporadically when it was on prime time a couple of years ago, I know how it ends and let's just say they're all in for heartbreak.
A really good episode. I stopped watching regularly in season 11, but I've been watching the reruns this year and it reminded me why I liked this show in the first place - good characters and characterisations, fairly well written storylines (even if it's quite a stretch of the imagination that Mt. Thomas gets so much crime week in, week out, which gets solved each time in the alloted 48 minutes) and good acting. 8/10moreless
