This epsidoe was definately a great way to start off the last 11 episodes of Blue Heelers. The story began with Alex still strugling to be a father to Rory, and what I thought was his 'jealousy' towards Jonesy and Rory's relationship. The situation between the pair was handled well at the end with Jonesy stating that Alex is Rory's 'father not his best friend'.
By the end of the episode we saw the relationship between Alex and Rory closen as Alex hugged Rory after he thought he had been missing, when infact Rory had gone home because he was scared of the shooting the day before. The importance of this scene was the fact that Rory hugged his father back.
The story surrounding the Boss and his evident health problems also leads to a climax in storyline between Detective Amy and 'The Boss'. The last scene where the Boss asks Amy to join him for a drink signifies that the Boss doesn't want to entirely close out his colleagues and friends. This is important as it shows us the other side to Tom, the one which was clouded behind his rather shady past... that is his wife dying and the last few episodes of last season, where he was haunted by the Baxter family.
Susie and Jonesy also shared another touching scene together, with them discussing that they'd both like children. This season it could be said that the tension which was once between them, after last season, is slowly starting to fade. Could it mean the start of the relationship again? Lets all hope.
Until next week try and savour every memory of Heelers, as there are only 10 episodes until we lose it forver. But, before I go i'd like to say lets all thank god for whoever created DVD and put the seasons of Heelers onto them.
