Kushinada: Orges, long-nosed goblins, water imps...Since time began, Japan has harbored legends of monsters. Do you know what kind of monsters these are? Momiji: No. Kunikida: They have no form of their own, and change their bodies at will. They are also capable of living for thousands of years. You noticed a few things about them in Izumo, didn't you? Momiji: They're plants? Kunikida: Yes, they seem to prefer plant for, down to the cellular level. It's our hypothesis that the Aragami, like plants, undergo a form of photosynthesis during the day and then become more active at night. Traditionally, monsters and ghosts have been creatures of the night. Perhaps now it's not so hard to understand why.
The aragami in this episode is a crow.
