Steve greets us outside. He's dressed up like a knight and says that he's Sir Stevealot, the "Shining Knight of the Kingdom of Blue." He then drops the guise for a minute and explains that he's really just Steve, but he's pretending to be Sir Stevealot as part of a big adventure everyone's having. We meet up with Queen Blue, Lady Pail and Lord Shovel and it turns out they've been looking for King Horace (Steve's stuffed anteater) but can't seem to find him. We imagine that we have a telescope and spot King Horace up on top of what appears to be some sort of cardboard box. Periwinkle shows up, calling himself the Kitten Castle Keeper and explains that the cardboard box is actually his castle in the sky. If we want to rescue King Horace, we're going to have to find a way to get up there. As part of our quest, we first have to face Periwinkle's obstacles, his "land of magic spells." We begin by imagining that Castle Keeper Periwinkle has turned a small patch of dirt into a huge pit of sticky mud. Periwinkle gives us a hint about this obstacle: no human has ever crossed it. We consider this and figure out a way across: we pretend we're frogs and jump over it. Now that we've done this, we face Periwinkle's second obstacle: a rock that we imagine he's turned into a giant boulder. This obstacle is too wide to walk around and too tall for a frog to hop over. We move it out of the way by pretending to be bulldozers. Lastly, we face what Periwinkle calls his toughest spell yet. He turns Steve into a block of ice, so we imagine that we're the sun to melt the ice. Later, we try to continue, but Castle Keeper Periwinkle installs a lock on the castle gate. We need a magic key to open it, but we don't have one. Blue skidoos into a medieval storybook and we follow, hoping that we might be able to find the magic key there. Once there, we meet a troll who has a riddle that he says will help us to find the key. The riddle asks what is really small, likes to crawl and has no arms at all. The answer is a worm or the snake, so we slither along the ground and before long, we've found the key. We try to get it, but just then, a little dragon shows up and grabs it away. We give chase and meet up with a Goblin who has another riddle for us to help us find the key. He asks us what lives outside, grows really tall and loses leaves in the fall. The answer is a tree, so we stretch really tall like trees and find the key once again, only to have taken away once more by the little dragon. We finally catch up with the little dragon and this time, it has a riddle for us. It wants to know what can mess up peoples' hair, make a sailboat sail to anywhere and keep a kite up in the air. The answer is the wind and with that, we've finally earned the right to the magic key.
