Episode Recap

Steve invites us in, saying that he and Blue are learning about his new favorite animal, the giant anteater. We take a look at it in a book that Blue has and learn that it lives in the rainforest, has a snout that it can use to dig into holes and a very long tongue, which it uses to eat ants. We continue our learning about animals and even imitate some animal behavior. We find Mr. Salt, Mrs. Pepper and Paprika, who are all dressed up as bears. They wonder just why bears go into their caves and so Blue brings her book and we look and find out that they go inside them to sleep. We get a call from Shovel and Pail and find Pail dressed up as a beaver and Shovel dressed up as a bluebird. Pail wants to know why beavers pick up sticks, so we check the book and find that they use them to make homes for their families. Then, Shovel asks why birds sing and we learn that one reason is so that they can talk to other birds. Later on, we pretend to be fish and skidoo into a computer program featuring a beach, where we meet Lady Gooddiver. She has a submarine and takes us under the sea, where we spot a porcupine fish and sea horse. At the bottom of the ocean, we learn about camouflage, which some animals use to hide themselves. We search for some camouflaged fish and then learn a couple of reasons why they're hiding: either to avoid getting eaten by a bigger fish, or to pounce on a smaller fish and eat it.
