Is it me or is it painfully obvious that it's filmed in front of a blue screen as the hosts give it away.

Well it is supposed to be for little kids after all who aren't savvy enough yet to know such things

It's more painfully obvious in the earlier episodes of the program. The program's techniques were refined later in the series and the later the episode is, the better the production quality is, in general.
