Episode Recap

Joe welcomes us in, saying that he has a big surprise for us and Blue. He asks if we want to know what it is and we agree that we do. Not convinced, he asks if we really really really really really want to know what it is and then reveals that he's not going to tell us. Instead, he's created "Joe's Clues" and he wants us and Blue to play his game to figure out what it is. Today he's going to leave the clues, placing on orange-handprint on each of them. We agree to play. Blue goes to get the notebook and the game begins. To find the first clue, Joe wants us to start by solving a riddle. The riddle asks: "what has yellow feathers, a red beak and uses it when it's time to eat?" We quickly figure out that the answer is a duck, so we go to look for one. Along the way, we pick up Tickety to help us search for the duck. Outside, we find a duck, or rather Joe, dressed rather obviously as a duck. The "duck" says that it gave the clue to a friend, Little Red Riding Hood. The duck leaves the scene and Joe reemerges, this time dressed as Little Red. "Little Red" tells us that she gave the clue to a person who has brown hair and whose favorite shape is a square. We quickly figure out that Joe has the first clue. After taking care of that, we get the mail and another clue. We tell Joe about it and he shows us a green-squared backpack which he says has the third clue. In order to get it, we're going to have to catch him and we follow him as he skidoos into a book, yelling that it's the "Great Joe's Clues Chase." We follow him through a number of trippy, psychedelic environments. At one point, we find him hiding behind big bunches of balloons. Another area features collage pictures with Joe hiding in a "Where's Waldo" sort of setup. We slide around crazy-twisted slides hoping to find him and encounter a parody of the classic show The Laugh-In. Finally, Blue and us catch up and Joe has to give up the final clue. In this episode, things are turned upside-down as Blue and us play Joe's Clues to figure out what Joe's surprise is. The three clues in this episode are: Clue 1: Joe Clue 2: A Stage Clue 3: A Kazoo Based on one or more of these clues, can you figure out what Joe's surprise is? The correct answer is: A Music Show We solve the clues and Blue barks the "Figured It Out" song. Joe's putting on a show and he invites us all to come and watch. He introduces the show with the his own theme using the skidooo and then appears as Little Red Riding Hood. She's looking for a duck to give a snack, but she doesn't know where the duck is. The duck shows up and sings about how he loves to quack and wants his snack, but Little Red has it. Little Red shows up again and decides to leave the snack sitting waiting for the duck in a picnic basket, hoping that the duck will find it. She asks us to tell the duck about it if he shows up. The duck returns and Joe encourages us to join in the show. We tell the duck about the snack and it's a happy ending. "Blue's Room" In Blue's Room, Blue comments on the funniness of Joe's game. Polka Dots then reveals that he's created a game called Polka Dots' Puzzles that he wants us to play. We search for three puzzle pieces to create something. We locate the first one by a flower pot and toss it into Polka Dots' Puzzle Pouch. The second piece is with Roary and we find the third sitting on Silly Silly Seat. The three puzzle pieces create a present and when we open it, out come balloons and confetti - a fun surprise.
