Joe meets us outside, saying that he's been waiting for us. He takes us over to an area in the backyard where Periwinkle and Blue have discovered a bird's nest with an egg in it. The egg is wiggling and looks like it might be about to hatch. We watch and watch, Periwinkle even yells at it, but nothing happens, the egg doesn't hatch. Joe decides, with our help, that it might take a while to hatch. We're just going to have to be patient and figure out something else to do while we wait for the egg to hatch, "wait, wait, wait." We first try waiting quietly, but that quickly gets boring. We begin looking for things to do. Periwinkle gets an idea to fly a model plane. He first, however, tries taking the pieces of an unassembled plane and tossing them in the air. This, naturally, doesn't work very well. We suggest that he assemble it and he does, first sloppily and then better. He's starting to get impatient with it and we help him to realize that if he wants to work, he's going to have glue all the pieces together in the right places and then wait for the glue to dry. In the Blue Skidoo segment, we get a call from a Spinner in the a game board who tells us that we're going to have to play "The Waiting Game" in order to find the third clue. We stand on a gameboard with other game pieces and slowly advance forward on game squares in a line leading towards a door. To pass the time, we play games such as "I Spy," counting clouds and counting the number of game pieces that are in front of us in line.

Epilogue: We've waited and waited. Periwinkle's airplane is finally ready and flying and it's finally time for the bird to hatch. We meet it, say hello and show it the birdhouse that Joe and Blue made for it. It likes the birdhouse and is happy to see us.
