Blue's Clues

Steve invites us in, saying that he and Blue are about to feed Turquoise. (The turtle Steve got for Blue as a gift all the way back in "Blue's Birthday.") When we show up, Turquoise shakes and then hides in her shell. Steve and Blue wonders what's happening and it turns out that Turquoise is just shy. Steve reminds Turquoise who we are and Turquoise is okay. Then, the doorbell rings and Steve goes to get the door. It's Miranda, Magenta's owner at the door. This is the first time she's ever been over to the Blue's Clues house. She compliments the Thinking Chair and says that she's come over to return a book about anteaters that she borrowed from Steve. Steve and Miranda trade the books that they borrowed from each other and Steve notices a videotape with Magenta's picture on it. The videotape features Magenta and Blue and Miranda offers to stop by again a little later so that they can all watch it together. Until then, we help out some of our friends with shyness. Outside, in the backyard, we find Pail with a new friend named Sifter. Shovel, it seems though, has been hiding behind a bush. We talk to him and find out that he's shy about meeting Sifter. So to help out, we guide Shovel through his choices. He can either keep hiding behind the bush, or he can go introduce himself to Sifter and see what happens. Shovel decides to introduce himself, but then he's not sure what to do next. We consider the choices: Shovel can play by himself separately from Sifter, or he can talk to Sifter and try to find a game that they both enjoy. Shovel talks to Sifter and finds that they both like playing in the sand. Problem solved. Later, in the Blue Skiddoo segment, we help a duck that's shy about his first day at Blue's preschool, Orange Kitten - who's nervous about joining in a game and Green Kangaroo with a presentation for show-and-tell.
