Blue's Clues

The closing credits include the dedication "In Loving Memory of Paul Beard." Paul Beard was an animator for the show who passed away in a car crash in 2005. He also worked on Wonder Pets!

In this special, Joe is seen actually drawing all the clues and they neither talk nor sing.

The program opening tags it as "Blue's Room: Meet Blue's Baby Brother." Blue appears in puppet form and talks throughout the special.

This was the first new episode of the program in over two years. It is really more of a special and no other episodes are known to be in production, although there are ten new episodes of the spin-off Blue's Room premiering.

This one-hour episode aired in primetime from 7-8 P.M. eastern on a Sunday. It is billed as a TV movie and runs about 50 minutes, not including a single break. Originally slated to air on September 10, 2006, the premiere date was pushed up to August 6. It repeated the next day at 10 A.M. on both Nick Jr. and Noggin and will air again on Nick Jr. at 10 A.M. on Friday, August 11. It is also available on Nick Jr. video and Comcast on Demand.

This special is also listed as "Behind the Blue."

Originally announced to premiere on Thursday July 27, 2006 at 8:30 P.M., this 12 minute special then appeared in schedule listings for July 20 instead. It was pulled from the schedule at the last minute and aired at the originally scheduled date and time.

Throughout this episode, Joe blows into the wrong end of the kazoo.

When Joe sings the song that is the answer to Blue's Clues, he sings all of the quarter notes as eighth notes.

Once again, Blue eats something chocolate, even though dogs are supposed to be allergic to chocolate. Not only that, but we pretend that the viewer is given chocolate, even though they might be allergic to it.

At one point, Joe appears at the front of the trolley headed to the fairy-tale ball, singing. There's a pan shot of the fairy tale characters as Joe continues singing and when it concludes, Joe is inexplicably at the back of the trolley.

Original broadcast had no closed-captioning.

At the end of the episode, Joe says "Well, thanks for playing with us," which is miscaptioned as "Well, thanks for playing us."

Close-captioning misspelled "skidoo" with two "d"s.

At one point the close-captioning reads that Blue is barking the "We are looking for Blue's Clues" song, but technically, she's actually barking "We are looking for Joe's Clues."

Parts of the story from the legend are similar to the story heard in

blue the puppy was actually suppose to be an orange cat.

The credits roll at a ridiculous speed.

According to Moona, all other dogs act as they do in the real world, and are not colored like in cartoons. But if that's the case, shouldn't there be a special moon for Magenta and Green Puppy as well?

In "Blue's School," the third clue is on a jar sitting on a table. The blue pawprint is facing the viewer and Steve is at the other end of the table. A kid yells out "a clue" and Steve just sort of lowers his head a bit, looks down quickly and says that it is a clue. Steve's quick responsiveness is unusual for him, but what's even more odd is that unless there's a pawprint on the other side of the jar, there's no way he can see the clue. The jar is too far away from him and the table is fairly level, such that there is no way for him to see the pawprint which is facing us.
