This episode is the first of five episodes of an arc designed to introduce Mr. Salt and Mrs. Peppers' new baby.

Mailtime Segment: Mailbox shares a new joke he made up with Steve. Steve likes it so much that he decides to put it in "Blue's News." In the letter, a group of schoolkids, two girls and two boys, decide to create a newspaper called "Our News." They fill it with information about their activities, such as athletics, choir and dancing.

The "Skiddoo News" includes visible headlines and even readable text. Sample headlines: "Skinny pig est un bon participant a le Tour de Skiddoo" "Sarah Scientist Honor---" "Felt Friend Travels to Felt Planet" "---ger bread ...... ---a Parie" Text from Sarah Scientist article: Anatomyville - At a big banquet last night, Sarah Scientist was formally honored as the Skiddoo News scientist of the year. "Winning the Nobel Prize was nice," said Sarah, "but this is really special."
