Blue's Clues

At the start of this episode, Steve says "hi" to us and also holds up a sign that says "hi" to convey it. It turns out that the theme is words today because Blue found a big bag of words. It has everything from big words like "somersault" to little words like "me" and "you." As Steve searches for clues, he gets called on by Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper and we learn that they have guests over and they need our help in preparing lunch. They've got the sandwiches covered, but they need us to take care of a salad. They give us instructions on how to do it, but Steve's not sure what some of the words in the instructions mean. By paying attention and remembering what else they said, we're able to figure out the meanings of the words by picking out the identifying features of the things they describe. We successfully create a salad by first washing the lettuce in a colander, then adding croutons and finally "tossing" the salad. Later, we skiddoo into a blank piece of paper, but with Blue's words, we create an adventure. Traveling down a road, Steve ends up creating obstacles such as a lion and a rock, but with the proper words, we're able to solve the problem.
