Bodger and Badger

Show Summary

Bodger and Badger was a slapstick comedy for young children about Simon Bodger and his mash potato loving pet, Badger. The creator, Andy Cunningham was the real star as he played both Simon and Badger was his puppet. Over the years they moved around a bit as Simon got different jobs, from working as a school janitor to opening their own guest house. Whatever the location, life was never dull with Badger around. In the later seasons, Badger was gained a friend in a mouse rather originally named, Mousey! Starting in 1989, the series lasted a decade, spanning nine seasons and over 100 fifteen minute episodes. Even though the show has ended, the magic is still kept alive as Bodger and Badger still do very popular stage show tours.

This television show is about a man called Simon Bodger and his pet badger "Badger". Badger really likes mashed potato and nearly every episode involves mashed potato. When I was younger I was a really big fan of Bodger and Badger and then it disappeared until late last year where they showed repeats.

A Comdy show for kids about an oddjob man called Bodger who got different jobs from working as a chef till owning his own hotel SEAGULLSREST. He also had to keep his talking pet Badger out of sight form other people. Badger loved MASHED POTATO and always covered Bodger in it. Later in the series Badger made friends with a house mouse called Mousey who wasn\'t very bright but she loved CHEESE. I liked show before but now looks dated compared to other shows like Basil Brush and Sooty heights. Seeing this show on DVD would be a good ideamoreless

As a kid I used to like watching this show, but now I'm older I like watching this show even more since they brought it back on telly. I don't know why but I consider it very funny when one of the characters get splat with mash potato no matter how many times it seems to happen. a lot of thought has gone into this show even if it is kind of a sooty rip off and not to mention they've stop making the series, it still seems to be very popular with this generation. every series was very good, especially with mousy who was in later on in the series and then china the dog who was in the much later series. This show is a perfect example of a show that is for everyone and should be appreaciated for years to come.moreless
  • Kids TV series following the life of Simon Bodger and Badger (later his friend Mousey) living together with the constant fear that Badger would be discovered by someone.

Fantastic series that has maintained creator Andy Cunninghams place on television for over 15 years. Although it was never ascertained exactly why Badger loved mashed potato so much, the slapstick prospects with ready-mash are endless, and a brilliant way of entertaining children. As the series were constantly being made from 1989-1999, ten years worth of Bodger and Badger entertained thousands of children. Despite the last episode being aired in 1999, Bodger and Badger still has its slot on BBC1 and has been brought into the digital age by the CBBC channel showing endless repeats. I think 15 years is a pretty fantastic achievement for a simple idea about a puppet and a lot of powdered mashed potato.moreless
