ABC has just renewed Body of Proof for a third season. And its only for 13 episodes. But its better than getting canceled.

I am over the moon with this renewal, since tv by the numbers had the show penned as certain to be canceled, based upon the ratings. But ABC must have some faith in the show.

I don't like the show very much and don't watch it regularly, but I've seen the season finale (promo looked fantastic, it was intense) and I liked it.

Season 2 was really good. The show improved in the second season. The only negative thing I have to say about the show is the way ABC is airing the episodes. They are airing episodes out of order. In one episode Megan found out Kate was sleeping with her ex-husband then the next episode she was not ok with it, then she finally accepted it and then two episodes later she was still hating Kate because of it.

I didnt mind that but I didnt let it ruin my viewing of the series, I was able to follow the show.

Cant wait to see what Season 3 brings to the series.

John Carroll Lynch (Detective Bud Morris), Nicholas Bishop (Peter Dunlop) and Sonja Sohn (Detective Samantha Baker) will not be returning for season 3.

i saw this too. & it pisses me off that they would do that. 3 of them you think that's enough? the actor who plays "Peter" ok they stabbed him the writers i mean so he can die in the premire. but the rest ? the cast can't cost THAT MUCH in salary. i mean since the show is STLL relatively new & all that. & only 13 episodes? that well SUCKS ASS! sorry for the capatilizing here. but it does suck.

anyways, i ain't going to stop watching the show because of it. but i guess for right now i'm just going to vent here. he he

I can see Peter going as they killed his girlfriend then had him stabbed as you say wildhoney, so his absence is explainable. And I guess they can assign a new detective team or rotating team of detectives for Megan to interact with, but it's still jarring to get rid of three characters that have been there since the beginning. Not feeling that this show is going to get past this new season.

Yeah, just read they were leaving. The show wont be the same. If we were only loosing one of them, I could deal with it, but three of them really changes the show. Im not going to stop watching since they are gone, but you never know this could be a good thing. The writers can bring in a new character and can bring something different to the show shake things up a bit between other characters. I kind of thought if the series had been renewed Peter would live and if the series was cancelled, well we could decide if he lived or died. So I assume Peter dies in the premiere episode, Bud has a baby on the way so possibly he and his wife move away, and as for Samantha I dont know why she would leave, she would have been given a new partner to work with. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens to these characters.

John Carroll Lynch is going to be a series regular on NBC's new procedural Do No Harm but no word on what the other 2 will be doing.

Small note on Season 1 + 2: I felt the series got off to a shakey start in season 1. The characters were growing and being explored every week in some small way and the storylines improved towards the end of season 1. Then season 2 arrived and it was much better than season 1. As the episodes aired each one was an improvement every week. I fet myself wanting the next epsode to air straight after. As most would say a show takes time to find its feet and Body of Proof found its feet in season 2 and hopefully season 3 will be even better than season 2.
