The earliest he can see you would be the end of August. That's the earliest appointment he has." It's another morning at the Miami plastic surgery office. Inside, Dr. Brad Herman and Dr. Michael Kelly are giggling over the tiny pair of underwear they bought Dr. Carlos Wolf for his upcoming triathlon. On one side of the bikini underwear reads "El Mas Famoso," a name Dr. Wolf's family has bestowed upon him because he loves being on TV. The office soon gets very busy and the three doctors meet all new patients that day. Not everyone is in for a beauty enhancement — some are there for reconstructive surgery. We first meet Lisa and Steven and their twins: Jiesi who has a cleft lip, and Jieming who has both a bilateral cleft lip and a cleft palette. The family lives in the Cayman Islands and has raised money to bring the twins to Miami for this surgery. Dr. Kelly explains the procedure and the next day, the very nervous and anxious parents show up for surgery. This is Dr. Kelly's specialty, but operating on infants is still risky. On one hand, young patients heal easier, but on the other hand, they must be watched closely during the surgery. Back in Dr. Wolf's office, Robert, a 40-ish sun worshipper, wants to get rid of his saggy eyes and thick upper lids. Recently separated from his wife, but still close to her because of their three children, Robert feels that he needs a fresher look. Treating men is very different than women when it comes to plastic surgery, and Dr. Wolf sees Robert as a younger version of George Hamilton. The two discuss the procedure that would make the most sense for Robert, and he prepares to make his appointment. The next patient is 24-year-old Nicole, who is getting married to her high-school sweetheart in November. As she looks for a wedding dress, she quickly discovers that getting a dress to fit her will be extremely difficult. "This is supposed to be a happy time for me, and I'm miserable." Nicole's breast size is a 36DD, and for years she has thought about having a breast reduction. Struggling to fit into her dream wedding dress is what finally pushes her to see Dr. Herman — despite her mother's reservations. She is tired of not being able to wear the clothes she likes; she is tired of the boys staring at her breasts; and most of all, she is exhausted from the back pain they have caused her for all these years. All the surgeries for the new patients have been scheduled. Robert arrives with fanfare via limo on the day of his surgery. Nicole arrives for her breast reduction and Dr. Kelly gives last minute assurances to the twins' family. All of the surgeries are successful, and as Dr. Kelly predicted, the twins recover quickly. In addition, the renowned "El Mas Famoso," a.k.a. Dr. Carlos Wolf, gets his hair cut by one of his patients, Cherie. She playfully teases him about his celebrity status and the two of them have become good friends after many haircuts and Cherie's many visits to his office for her botox treatments. Weeks later, the twins are back in the Caymans, and the parents send Dr. Kelly pictures of them by email; Robert is back on the beach feeling and looking younger, and of course, showing off his eyes as well as his six pack. And Nicole — she is thrilled. She has finally found a dress that fits and that makes her feel and look beautiful.moreless
