Pray for My Nose
AIRED:
"These are the biggest ears I've ever seen!" Dr. Herman has his work cut out for him with 9-year-old, Taylor. Taylor will finally be getting his ears pinned back after a lifetime of teasing from his schoolmates. Even though he's been called everything from "big ears" to "Dumbo," Taylor has a great attitude and lots of friends. Dr. Herman is madly in love with him. "It's a privilege to operate on young kids, because I know I'll truly be making a positive difference in their lives." Daphna is getting a nose job from Dr. Wolf, and her prayer circle will be praying for her on the day of surgery. Daphna hates her nose, so while she sees her surgery as "glorifying God's work," she'll also be enjoying a new and improved profile. Meanwhile Dr. Wolf's mom, Judy, has come in for botox. At 68, Judy looks and acts 20 years younger — but not because she's had plastic surgery. "I'll survive my whole life with botox only! No surgery for me!" Judy has brought in her best friend, Edna, who will be getting a facelift from "Little Carlito" (Dr. Wolf) whom she's known since he was in diapers. Micki is not easy to please. "If I knew lipo was gonna hurt this much I never would've done it." When she's not complaining about the pain, she's nagging her husband and kids or calling Dr. Kelly in the middle of the night with an anxiety attack. In any case, Micki is determined to "become a hottie again," and tells her husband, Hugh, "You better be careful because I'm gonna be cute again … and then you'll really have to worry." Hugh wryly responds, "Good. Then you'll be someone else's problem!" After a couple weeks of torturous indoor healing time, Taylor goes screaming down the street with a pack of friends. Like bats out of hell, they tear through the neighborhood on mini-bikes. "I feel great!" he says. "No kids are teasing me now, and if they do I'll punch 'em in the nose!" Daphna too is pleased with her results. "Jesus Christ gave me a quick healing and a beautiful nose." And Dr. Wolf agrees. With a sly grin he concurs, "I guess all of that praying really paid off." As usual, Dr. Wolf has done a stellar job taking years off Edna's face. In fact, he's done such wonders that now his mom, Judy, who swore that she would never go under the knife, will not stop bugging her "little Carlito" to get an appointment for a mini-facelift of her own. Micki, on the other hand, isn't thrilled. Though she loves her new flat tummy, she isn't healing as well as she would like. "Some patients are hard to please," gleans Dr. Kelly. "Some are just not good with pain, but I'm sure Micki will end up please with the results." Only time will tell if Micki ever finds the relief she is looking for …moreless
