This is a pretty good episode, it has a new plot that isn't as typical with Bonanza. That's really a nice change, because the usual plot is someone's trying steal the Ponderosa land, but that isn't the case with this one. The story is that Joe is playing poker, and he thinks he's winning a horse, but it turns out to be a Chinese girl slave, who doesn't want to be set free. The episode eventually ends with Su Ling, the girl, working in Virginia City as a nurse for a Chinese doctor. This is another one where Little Joe get shot...big surprise!!! Seriously, I think the writers were obsessed with have Joe shot or knocked out in almost every episode. Probably because they wanted to scare all his admirers! Over all, this is a nice episode to add to the Bonnanza collection.moreless
