Trouble follows singing drifter Howard Mead to the Ponderosa. Adam defends his buddy Howard against accusations that he robbed a man. To further complicate matters, Howard is falling in love with Hilda Brunners, the sister of the man he's charged with robbing.moreless

There's really no plot. Everytime someone does something, Adam or the other guy break out into song. This was really a homage to Pernell Roberts and his guitar. This was one of the last episodes PR starred in, so it looks like everyone just let him have his way. It is ridiculously disguised as storytelling, but I get the impression I'm watching a musical. I believe "Dead and Gone" is also an inside joke of PR's leaving the show.moreless
