Adam's old friend Ross Marquette, always a level-headed man, suddenly begins behaving erratically. He beats his wife, Delphine, after accusing her of having an affair with Adam, and he's involved with a gang of robbers and cattle thieves. Adam brings Delphine back to the Ponderosa for her own safety, wondering if Ross is suffering from insanity.moreless
