Episode Summary

A pompous Frenchman shows up in Virginia City claiming he's famous poet Francois Villon reincarnated. In actuality, he's merely a scoundrel. Joe is mesmerized by the windbag's attractive sister, but the rest of the family are not so impressed. Francois challenges Hoss to a duel and steals two of the Cartwrights' horses.moreless

    "Abysmal"
A dull and very stupid episode in which the Cartwrights meet a Frenchman who believes being the incarnation of the French writer Francois Villion. Sorry but would you invite to your place an arrogant impolite brick who is willing to kill your son? No, but Ben does. There is a bad anachronism in this episode because they are always talking about that Villion was hanged. The real Villion wasn't hanged. The episode is very boring because nothing seems to happen. The French are characterized in a bad stereotype way as tactless and arrogant. Some scenes should be funny but it's not funny either. For me this episode didn't worked.moreless
