  • Typical Bonanza plot, but why I love it.

    The episode "The Friendship", starts out with Danny Kidd, a convict, saving Little Joe's life. Because of that, Joe can see he's no ordinary convict and wants to free Kidd. As the plot unfolds, a few events happen that are typical of Bonanza, but exactly why I love the show. 1- Danny proves to be very gentle and hardworking trying to save a horse. 2- Danny tries to kill one of the ranch hands, which, when it happens, Joe starts to lose some of the faith he had in Danny. 3- Ann Carter teases Danny and he grabs her and kisses her, tearing her shirt, though it was essentially her fault. All this leads up to Little Joe having to go after Danny to convince him to come back. I think this episode has very good scenes showing Ben and Joe's relationship and it also pulls the viewer into the episode to find out if Danny will turn out ok. This is definitely one of the Bonanza tops.moreless
