Bonanza

Little Joe's childhood sweetheart, Laura, and her stern seafaring father come to visit the Ponderosa. Joe and Laura fall in love and want to get married, but her father is dead set against it. Joe fixes up an old cabin for he and Laura to live in, hoping it would help her father to see that he really loves her and that they want to be together. Soon he finds out the real reason for their visit and her father's failure to approve their union. Laura is dying, and her father was trying to do everything he could to make her happy before she dies. Joe is heartbroken, but his family helps him through it.
