This is really one of my all-time favorite Bonanza episodes. You really get a feel for the family dynamics in this one and the closeness of Ben to all of his sons and the brothers to each other. The acting of both Michael Landon and Pernell Roberts was excellent. At the moment in the barn, when Joe can\'t go through with killing the bad guy, Adam clearly wants to reach out to him, but holds back. Roberts portays this with subtle expression and body language beautifully. The moment when Joe goes to Hoss\' bedside in the middle of the night, to promise his unconscious brother that he will kill the man who did this to him, is another wonderful example of what a wonderful actor Landon was, even at such a young age. He was such a natural! Of course, I also love the scene when Ben is sitting alone at the dining table and has his hands clasped in prayer, then silently mouths, \"Amen\". That is another example of a moment that demontrates the ideals and values that the series always was based on.moreless
