  • A mystery death with a rather sweet twist.

    9.0
    "Superb"
Quite an interesting story. The game was obviously not important, if Roger had been killed for it, it would have been released but it wasn't and the co-designer Gil didn't even know Roger had completed the game. The murder was a crime of passion due to a miscommunication – had Roger told Gil why he was running off with the girl, Roger would probably still be alive. I liked how it turned out that the baby was Roger's, it was sweet, not the usual jock-gets-the-girl tale, but instead that the girl was won over by the sweet geek to the point where they not only had sex but also got pregnant. Even twenty years later, Janine still talks of Roger with such affection, this wasn't just a fling. Nice touch.

Brennan gets twisted out of shape by her Smurfs story and Booth makes a point of who Smurfette was. Makes you wonder if the 'humiliating' incident she got so upset about was misinterpreted by her – could her 'secret Santa' have been trying to make the same point?

I liked this one, the underdog getting the girl and it unfortunately got him killed.
  • A body in a capsule.....Interesting!

In this episode of Bones, the following happens. When a time capsule from 1987 is taken up inside a dead body (or at least what is left of one) is found. Soon the victim is IDed as a student from the high school from 1987. We soon learn that the victim was very popular in school, and disappeared the day after graduation, and no one had seen him since. We soon learn that the victim got a cheerleader from school pregnant, and she had the baby and told her boyfriend at the time that he was the father. Soon they learn who the killer is and when he is questioned, he soon confesses to killing his best friend.
  • That was an adorable episode.

Dr. Sweets is great, Hodgins talking about being a boy was fun, the dead body was really gross, the worse for me until now and the case was nice too.

We get to learn a little bit more about everyone. So... Booth was one of "those" guys, throughout the episode I was getting a little upset with him and his awful not humiliating (totally bragging) moments, but I was patient, I knew something would happen in the end, it always does and my patience paid of. Such a sweet BB moment again.

Looks like our man is evolving huh :p First time he tried to compliment her he said she looked nice, then he got the courage to say she's structured very well and know he was able to say she has the looks, who knows he might get brave enough to use beautiful, gorgeous and so on.

About the role-playing with the hats got me curious.

Brainy smurf, so cute... now Jasper won't feel so alone, he's got a new buddy.
  • This episode brought back great memories of the high school in the 80's from Big Hair to Nerds. Only at the opening of my time capsule at our 20th I hope and pray that there will not be any dead bodies molting in it.

Matter of fact, who has a time capsule that big? And the school I went to well the Computer Nerd wouldn't have come any where near getting the Head Cheerleader pregnant. And once again Brennan saves the day when looking at the family pictures and seeing no family resemblance. And to think that Sweets was actually thinking about splitting them up. I am so glad that didn't happen. And that comment he made about hoping to help catch the killer so he can brag to his girl and have a great night. Well that was just a little sad really.

But honestly I felt like the rest of the show was just filler to get a little more insight on Booth and Brennan. And I also think Booth was right to give her Brainy smurf. Smurffette was superficial and just down right dumb, and that isn't Brennan at all.
  • Not one of the best, not one of the worst

It wasnt a bad episode though it wasn´t one of the best. The plot about the boy being buried in the time capsule is a terrible thing and it was a sad story for how it happened. It was funny to see Booth trying very hard to tell Brennan a humiliating story about his teenage years. He never succeeded. However, he couldn´t be more sweet when at the end he tries to make up for laughing at Brennan´s sad story and somehow she thanks him. If Booth wasn´t right, at least he tried to make the whole story a good one for Brennan. I also liked how upset she was when she first told him.

My favorite moment has to be when she tells Booth "to help you evolve".

i like this show because the character story is awsome.. and its completely different from other shows.. in this episode they reveal their pasts which lets them to know more about each other.. also the story about the kid in the capsule was quite different and the story line was phenomenal.. every episode is completely different from the previous one and this is one of the main reaosns why bones is one of the most watched programmes throughout the world david and emily continue to blow me away with there acting .. and so i give this episode two thumbs up!
  • Bones wants Smurfette, but the men in her life tend to give her Brainy Smurf!

    Another brilliant episode of Bones.

We are thrown back into the 1980ies with the discovery of a liquified (yuck) body in a buried time capsule. Of course, every individual Squint has his/her own fond memories of that decade.

The episode is not really remarkable for its story but for what is happening to the characters.

Angela, usually the one who tries to avoid badly decomposed bodies at any cost, is sifting through the liquified remains this time and seems to been having fun.

Meanwhile Booth is interested in the teenage Bones, who shares a sensitive story (She got Brainy Smurf as a present by a boy she had a crush on. Unfortunately she wanted Smurfette)about her childhood with him, only to have him snort after promising not to laugh.

So subsequently Booth is supposed to share an equally "humiliating" story of his life with her, as ordered by Dr.Sweets. But somehow he fails to come up with one, instead all his stories end with him being a ladies magnet (I'm so not surprised ;o)). Of course, Bones is not amused.

In the end he finally comes up with an impressive story for her, as he was embarassed that he didn't act like a hero, as the situation would have demanded of him.

To make his peace with Brennan he also brought her a Brainy Smurf and tells her Smurfette is shallow and just got her looks, whereas Bones has much more. These two are so cute and pull of scenes like this without any effort.

    Great One.
  • Exactly why I watch this show.

Okay - - Flashback to the 80s was great. The references brought memories of my own having graduated in 86. So I thought that aspect was great. The concept of opening the time capsule at a makeshift reunion was a really creative idea. The whole shifting through the items to determine who and how the person got trapped inside was interesting. Some of the links between the classmates were pretty interesting twists. I thought the fact that Booth was one of "those" guys was, although no surprise, was very humorous watching him work around. The therapy sessons again were also funny.
  • I love watching the relationship develop between booth and bones.

I love watching the relationship develop between booth and bones. It is so exciting to watch each week as booth and bones get closer and closer to admitting what we all have seen for so long. For that matter what everyone including their co-worker and doctor sweets has seen all along. I can't wait to see if they will actually make it in a relationship. Now on the subject of doctor sweets. I think he is a great new character. I love how they tease him and underestimate him when really he has a lot more insight on them than they want to admit.
  • Cold Case like show!

    9.5
    "Superb"
This was a heck of a show. As it was like I was watching Cold Case. As the team go after a group of former high school classmates in a time tunnel thing from 1987. Booth and Brennan find out about the different personalities of the classmates. As they discover that one of them was buried. Which makes the case all the shocking while the two finds out who is telling the truth and who isn't. That is why this episode makes the show more bizarre as it will keep you guessing until the end. Glad to see Booth & Brennan working a case together that may have confused them at times also.
  • Smurfette was the stupid shallow smurf who only had her looks, but Brennan has her looks and a whole lot more...

    9.2
    "Superb"
Well... not my favorite episode, but good anyway.

It was kinda cool that they made an "high school" episode...

We got to know a little more of Booth's and the squints' high school days.

Booth was one of those guys... lol

I think that Sweets is nice... of course I miss Gordon Gordon, but Sweets is cool. Loved the way he gets the whole "Field work" perspective... lol!

And Brennan like "You got all of this of tv?"

The whole humiliation thing was funny... Booth told her a lot of stuff and none of those were valid... lol

But the smurf thingy was cute. Specially at the end of the episode.

You know, I do love these B&B moments at the end of the episode and such, but do we really need to have it every episode? I mean... I feel like they're making them do this so that fans will be happier, but I think that all we have in excess has the same effect as all we get less... so yeah... a little less please?

But it was a good episode anyway...
  • Special episode trying to give us more ideas about characthers pasts.

    "Great"
On whole story, it did not gave much but it had it's beauty - maybe that we had change not to solve crime and see how they do it bu because they had some deeper looks into characters. It was not the best and not very well done, they have done deeper looks and more character development before, but it was enjoyable and somehow unique for this season. I loved that smurf thing - who could have thought. And the crime itself - intriguing and not so easily seen trough. Good episode but my hoped are up for the next episode..
  • A glimpse into the squints' high school days, and a "slushy" corpse to go with it!

    9.7
    "Superb"
Well, now. There were some very interesting moments here!

*Dr. "Sweets": He's starting to grow on me. At first I really didn't think his character added the right kind of feeling to the show, but he's starting to become more involved in the cases. And I love it that he was so childishly excited about the possibility of telling his girlfriend he helped catch a murderer. And of course his reaction to Brennan's comment that his evaluation of the killer was just guesswork, was priceless - him explaining that it was a logical interpretation of the information by a highly intelligent expert in his field. Definately no self-worth issues here!

*The squints were their usual great self. I loved their school stories, and Angela's remark that Booth was one of "those guys" was dead-on correct. One could see a little more of their backgrounds, and I think that's very important. I would have liked to hear a little more about Zack, though. I get the distinct feeling that Zack is being neglected a bit. We had great story lines these past two seasons where each of the other squints got a bit of special attention - Hodgins' family background and his old friend being murdered; Cam nearly dying after inhaling that phsyco's poison; Angela's boyfriend's death and her marriage to this other dude. But where was Jack's special episode? Yes, he went off to Iraq, but that was played down very seriously. I think it's high time he got some special attention.

*Well, what can I say about Booth and Brennan? Their chemistry is getting better and better. I really enjoyed the scene where Booth snickered at Brennan's Smurf story. One could see he was trying not to laugh, but I must admit, Brennan's interest in Smurfs is a little difficult to reconcile with the her personality, even though that happened a long time ago.

She seemed really hurt by Booth's reaction, and I think it has something to do with her idea of Booth being a jock while in school. Could it be that Booth's reaction reminded her of the Lacrosse captain humiliating her by putting the Smurf gift on the locker for everyone to see? Or maybe it just made her feel like the "jock" was behaving in a typical "jock" way by being callous?

Anyway, I thought Booth's high school stories were hilarious. The end was very special. Booth was clearly very embarrassed and appaled by his own behavior during the incident with Kenny. Him getting upset with Brennan because she didn't seem to understand his humiliation at not doing the right thing, showed just how bad he felt about it. Brennan must have realised that, therefor her "I get it." response. It was very sweet when he told her that she's better than the smurf she so admired. These two are really tuned into each other - yes, they grate on each other's nerves every now and again, but that just makes their "relationship" more real. But, even though it would be nice to see them get together, I'm not sure that's the right way to go. That would be the climax (excuse the pun) of the show, and what happens afterwards might only feel added-on. I would rather see them in a place where they realise (and act on) their attraction, but come to understand that a more personal relationship might affect their working relationship. And thus deciding on not going for the more personal relationship. This way, I think the writers can satisty the viewers' "greed" for them to get together (even only for an episode), and they can keep the show's tension going. It doesn't mean the two can't have a lapse in judgement every now and again! It might even make things more interesting!!

All in all, a really nice episode. Now, we just have to wait till next week!
  • Time capsule's, rubic cube's and dead bodies. All in a days work for Bones and Booth.

The team investigate a body that has decomposed, nothing new I know, but this body was buried in a high school time capsule that was buried 20 years ago.

The body turns out to be a classmate of the people who buried the time capsule and so fingers start to point at them, Booth, Brennan and the Jeffersonian team eventually find out what happened to the pupil and eventually catch the killer.

What I most enjoyed about this episode was Bones and Brennan's time with Dr. Sweets, the comic timing and there relationship even though platonic is brilliant, the last scene where Booth gives Bones the smurf is a big point towards there relationship.
  • Good episode great case and more Booth and Breenan shipping moments. The case of an eighties time capsule and a dead body being found in it. As usual Bones started out with a totally disgusting crime scene. The body of the victim had turned

Good episode great case and more Booth and Breenan shipping moments. The case of an eighties time capsule and a dead body being found in it. As usual Bones started out with a totally disgusting crime scene. The body of the victim had turned into nothing but liquid and it was referred to as death soup. Nice cast of suspects keeping us guessing to see who was the killer. The new therapist had some great scenes especially when he made the put on sherlock and cowboy hats. In the end the ships had fun with a touching scene between Booth and Breenan over a ridiculous smurf. Good episode I had lots of fun with it and it was pretty entertaining.
  • a time capsule, that's something I not familiar with...

    9.4
    "Superb"
A time capsule, I never did that in high school but it seems to be a common practice in the USA, at least in the movies and so...

It's not very good open a time capsule after 20 years and find a body in there.

This case bought old memories for them, their times in high school. Apparently Booth was "that" guy,the jog lol

We find a old story about Brennan and a boy she liked and Booth tries to tell one with the same things, the same felling of humiliation but he doesn't have one. Only at the end h tells a good one.

With the time capsule, secrets were revealed and discoveries made.

I enjoyed this one specially the sessions with Sweets and the whole flashback part.
  • Another great episode!

    9.7
    "Superb"
This episode of Bones with the high school comparisons and all the characters talking about what they were like in high school was hilarious! I felt angry at Booth when he laughed at Bones' smurf story- that was sort of mean even though it was a little funny... I loved how throughout the whole episode Booth was talked about being that guy.I laughed so hard as Booth tried to find a humiliating story to tell to Brennan- I laughed so hard at the bleacher story.Anyway when he finally found an embarrasing story to tell it was worth it. I really liked that Dr. Sweets was in this episode-writing a criminal psycological anylasis as field work and then saying that he hoped it was right because he would have a nice night if he told his girlfriend that he helped solve a murder made me laugh so hard. I thought that the cheerleaders son turning out to be the victim's son instead of her husband's was an interesting story line. I also started to like the guy better when he said that he was his son- no matter who his biological father was. The actual murderer being the best friend was so sad- he must have felt so horrible for all those years. As always I loved the ending of this episode, butI especially liked this episode's ending. It was so sweet as Booth gave herthe brainy smurf and told her that she was better than the smurfette... so sweet
  • This was freaking awesome. Watch and understand.

SO! This episode was so good, especially the ending, which is, as always, my favorite part. It was so sweet (though expected) when he gave her the Brainy Smurf, and gave her the little pep talk. I loved how Booth was trying to satisfy her with embarrassing stories, and how he never actually did. It was also very cute when Sweets was in there, pretty much everytime. That kid seriously cracks me up, and him and Booth together are just awesome. It was very interesting when everyone was like, 'you don't/do change from when you were in high school'. It sort of enforced this whole thing about Booth being "that guy". All in all, this was one of my favorite episodes of season three.
  • ...This episode I found very enjoying humorus. Did anybody suspect Angela being a total Ugly Betty??...

Ok I can see that I'm not the only one who feels that they were this close into kissing in this final episode, but they didn't. Makes me love them more. This episode I found very enjoying humorus. Did anybody suspect Angela being a total Ugly Betty?? Well, anyway's the story line, was good, the crime, interesting, Looking very much forward to next week, I still think that the killer actually works with them. Just a theory, that's all. I loved how Booth spilt almost his whole story of his high school life to Bones. very cute, and I'm actually beginning to enjoy Dr. Sweets. He's very catchy, smart, for just a kid. lol This episode I would have to say was good, but not the best, I would've liked to see more of the other characters...but it was still good.
  • The world's most perfect man!

Booth and Brennan investigate the murder of boy who's decomposed body is found in a high school time capsule that has been sealed for the past 20 years. The case was interesting, but I knew it was the best friend for the very beginning and I feel like there was a lot of stuff there that they threw out that they could have built more on, like the game that was way ahead of it's time, that they normally would have but didn't. However, on the flip side we got to see more Dr. Sweets who, while he isn't Gordon Gordon, is quite a funny character. We also got glimpses in all of the squints lives as children. The ending was amazing. I SWEAR they were 100% going to kiss. Booth's final story was great, really touching. His most embarrassing moment was when he laughed at this kid who was getting picked on. Then he goes on to tell Bones how she is better than shallow smurfette, because she has the body AND the brains. Could he seriously be any more perfect. One day Brennan is going to wake up and understand what a sweet and sexy beast she has at her disposal. Lets go knock some sense into her!
  • Bones and Booth investigate a corpse found rotting in a time capsule for 20 years. They enlist the services of their therapist to help.

    "Superb"
While the premise for this episode (dead boy in a time capsule) was somewhat interesting, the plot lacked the twists and turns we have come to expect from a Bones episode. However, the introduction of Dr. Streets coupled with the "Brainy Smurf" and "Smurfette" subplot keeps it interesting and enjoyable. I especially liked the Bones-Booth interaction at the end, and (dare I say it) it appears that our heroes may be one baby step closer to some sort of romantic interaction. Overall, a little lacking on the background case, but high marks for Bones-Booth interaction get this one a decent grade.
  • The ending! The ending I thought they were fianlly going to kiss! Come on! The suspense is killing me! Spoiler.

Great episode though I knew it was the best friend. He just had the look. Poor guy. We all know that kids act unrationally, and its so sad that he killed him by accident. Also great to catch glimpses of the squints in childhood. Booth was "that guy" and him trying to come up with embarrassing stories to tell breenan was hilarious. The ending was precious, and the tension was brillant as was the banter between them, Booth telling her that she wasn't smurfette, telling her she was better then some brainless girl was so sweet. I truly thought they were going to kiss. Kiss! Kiss! Kiss!
