  • The fascinating world of sex fetishists.

    9.5
    "Superb"
Certainly an unusual episode and very interesting.

CSI has done sexual fetish but they did the usual boring S&M stuff, this goes into whole new territory, a fetish I've never heard of – 'Pony-Play'. Role-playing is not unusual but the rider/pony scenario is certainly fascinating from a psychological point of view.

The murderer actually killed the victim like a horse, even cutting off the 'hooves', but the exception is the vicious gouging of the eyes. That's what gives the killer away because it's a deviation from the equine world.

What kind of sicko would eat horse meat? I adore horses so the idea is abhorrent. The strangest part is that a 'pony-player' actually advocates this, that's practically cannibalism!

Fascinating what a diverse world we live in.
  • Bones and Booth are back in full action to solve the murder of a man found in the woods.

Yippee! The Bones and Booth are back together with the chemistry that made me fall in love with the show in the first place.

I have missed the way Bones with her sassy straight forewardness and a reserved Booth react to each other during invistigations...their chemistry was absolutly perfect! It has not ben since the middle of last season that I have enjoyed an episode as much as this one. The writers have outdone themselves..."pony" play was highly entertaining. Everytime the show came back from commerical break I was surprised by another turn in the storyline. I also enjoyed Christina Cox as a guest star since I am a big fan of Blood Ties. It was a special treat to see her acting in a enirely different character than Vicki Nelson. She was the perfect person for the part..I give her Kudos for her protrayal as Annie Oakley.

I truly enjoyed the way the cast seems to be back in action and are finally starting to fall back into place. I was worried there for a while.

I will continue to be a loyal fan of Bones and watch every week. I hope that Bones and Booth can keep up the energy and deliver another perfect episode next week.
  • Booth and Bones investigate the death of a man caught in a kinky sex fetish love triangle. As a side story, Angela finally remembers the name of the man she married in Fiji.

    "Great"
This episode starts with a particularly gross corpse found in the woods by a boy scout. The investigation leads Booth and Bones to a beautiful resort where well to do professionals engage in "pony play." This of course offers a lot of opportunities for one-liners from Booth about this odd sexual practice. As always, the team solves the murder in the last ten minutes or so. This episode was only average, as the chemistry between Bones and Booth is still somewhat lacking, like there is a wall between them. I don't know if this is intentional by the writers, or if the writers are just in a rut. I did like the speech by Booth at the end regarding the difference between sex and love, which seems to have hit a nerve with Bones. All in all, average but entertaining.
  • Not sure what was better, Booth's mini speech at the end or the whole 'pony play' thing.

    9.9
    "Superb"
Okay, the reason I really loved this episode was because of Booth's little speech at the end of the episode. I felt like it described his relationship with Brennan word for word. Too bad they didn't act on any of it...

Angela's situation with the hypnotism was pretty funny. I thought it was neat how the wasp she saw led her to the picture and her husband's name. I think it's really cool that Hodgins isn't...upset about what's going on. Hmm...I wonder if we will ever find out what happened to Zach in Iraq. He hasn't really been the same since he came back...
  • a horse, is a horse...

So the pony play thing was hilarious. Putting the sexually frustrated Bones and Booth together on a fetish case was funny. I kinda expected the "more Catholic conservative" Booth to be a bit freaked out by it and the "anthropologist, 'people have been doing this for years'" to be more open. I loved the speak that Booth gave a the end about "making love" and fetish sex not being able to be good sex. And I loved even more that Bones agreed with him. The other funny stuff was Bones messing up the pop-culture and cop lingo as usual. I like that that is still such a strong part of who she is.

ill start at the beggining: i love how Brennan was "competeing between flesh and bone." that was awesome. Angela was HYPNOTIZED! ahahah so funny. that wasp was mad huge though. didnt realize a bug could make her scream that loud. she is trying to marry a BUG man after all.... but now they can finally get marrie! she remembered his name! do i hear wedding bells? i think thats a yes... I Absolutley LOVED cam little explanation of her expirience being hypnotzed lol. Coffee! hahahah her face was SO funny when she did it the second time after Angela walked away :P i felt soo bad for hodgins! he was like "we used to think things through together!." Awwww! At least zach said he would work on it. it was a really good episode, as always. lets just end with that.
  • Not my favorite but good.

This was a very crazy case, all this people walking around as ponies and riders was really weird, I didn't accept it too well. It didn't took me long to know who was the killer this time and the woman didn't convinced me much that she was capable of such a brutal murder.

Angela's bit with the hypnosis was weird too, another thing I didn't accept too well.

I don't like where they are taking Cam, I want her to soften up with the squints but not become goofy or unsure of herself.

To the good parts, Hodgins and Zack bits were good as usual, Booth's speech at the end was good and put an end to all the anthropological reasonings Brennan was spitting out. Loved how it showed in her face the speech hit a nerve and how again she tried to pull away with logic and lost.

    The Dinner is back!

And now we have a break, so annoying.
  • As I said in the forum for once the dead and decomposing body wasn't the grossest thing one the screen. In an episode that focused on horse fetishes. This one showed a terrible side of human sexuality. Thankfully we had some other things to focus

As I said in the forum for once the dead and decomposing body wasn't the grossest thing one the screen. In an episode that focused on horse fetishes. This one showed a terrible side of human sexuality. Thankfully we had some other things to focus on like Angela's hunt for Beerinbrau translated tiny flute. Cam being sent into clucking fits at the mention of coffee thanks to a magic show in Las Vegas was funny. I love tough new Zack as well his time in Iraq has clearly changed him and I love the Booth and Breenan are close but not ship close I think them hooking up would take the show down a long way.
  • I can never look at another horse the same way...

Before I saw this episode I was ok with horses. This whole fetish thing is so gross. And the fact that their were so many people their was just ewww.

Booth and Bones have great chemistry on screen. I can't wait for them to become a couple. They are to funny together. And Booth with the rest of the squints is great.

Hodgens and Angela are so cute. And the fact that they finally found out who her husband was is really great. And I can't wait to see how the whole divorce and marriage thing goes. Zach still seems a little strange (more than usual). I know that he was in Iraq and there is some emotional damage there but I hope he talks to someone and doesn't just bottle it all inside. I think that Booth would be a good person for him to talk to. I mean Booth knows what its like.

This episode was kinda wierd. I missed the first part but i know its where they find a gross body. They get back to the lab, and make that joke with Mr. Ed, and of course Brennan has know idea what they are talking about. They meet Annie Oakley the dead guy Ed's handler, she is creepy from the beggining. They also go to a butcher shop where they sell horse meat and to that i say gross. The butcher runs and Bones catches up with him around back and yells "Freeze or ill kick you in the testicles" That was flipin hillarious. In the end it was a good episode not the best but really good.
  • A horse is a horse, of course of course.

Firs thing I have to say about this episode. It was really really really funny.

Some people think the horse jokes weren't all that funny... maybe it's because I'm not american or english, but I thought it was pretty funny.

The whole "pony-play" thing was not all that normal, but there's always someone that comes up with new weird things to do... and the pony-play is just one of those weird things.

I liked the whole thing with Cam and the clucking fits at the mention of coffee thanks to a magic show in Las Vegas was very very funny. LOL!

I'm glad Angela remembered the name of the guy. Poor girl opened the door to a huge bug! LOL.

I like the ending scene. Booth's speech was really good. And he finally won an argument!! LOL

Can't wait for the next one.
  • A horse, of course!

Well, things get really, really wierd in this episode as Bones and Booth go to a place. Where someone is bound but feet are missing. Which is really gross and wierd. They are led to a lodge, where women horse jockeys are riding with male horses. And things go from strange to the strangest ever. Meanwhile, Angela wants to divorce her elusive husband. So that she could marry. As she learns who her husband's name is. As it makes you feel for her. But what if her husband is still alive and well but just missing. Very strange episode but in a good kind of way!
  • Not your usual type of storyline.

Booth, Brennan and the team are given an unusual investigation this week, after a decomposed body is found in a wood with no feet Brennan and Booth track the clues back to a special lodge where S&M horse-play is being conducted by women who play Jockeys and use men as horses in role play.

Booth and Brennan discover the murder victim was part of the horse brigade and set out to discover whom and why was he killed.

Back at the Jeffersonian Angela is set to try hypnosis to try and find her husbands name so she can track him down, divorce him and marry her Hodges.
  • Somehow not as catching as I hoped it to be.

    5.4
    "Mediocre"
When I think back for all those series I looked last week, I sadly have to admit that Bones would be in the bottom. I did not like this episode. First, the case was nothing original. It reminded me too much one episode from CSI where people also played some animals, plus that dominant thing - also done in CSI. If they could have found some other angle for it, use it in original situation - why not. But I did not see nothing special on it here. Quite average for Bones, if not even worser.

The case is somehow - cold, I would say. It brings no feelings to me. Bones tries to be understanding, Booth feels disgusted about the way some people act, in the end have a long talk about how weird people act, about relationships... And for me it seems that the point of this case was to lead to the end where Booth and Brennan could have open talk. More intriguing is the side storyline with Angela trying (or not trying) to remember the name of her husband. And the mystery is solved at the end and it really looks promising on that side.

    Well this one... lol

a body is found by a kid on a camping trip. Cam and Booth get there and she calls Bones. This guy was Ed Milner and he liked to be a pony. Who would think that something like that place could exist? People pretending be ponies and people pretending to ride them, it's weird.

I really don't know what to say.

There is some improvement on finding Angela's husband, she is doing a hypnosis session. She sees a wasp coming out a door, a giant wasp. That means something because she was reading a book about them and put a Polaroid that someone took her and her husband in there, is name is Grayson Barasa, they can finally find him and get a divorce.

Back to the main story, Mr. Ed was killed by his rider, Annie. She had left her husband and another pony for him but he didn't want to leave his wife.

I liked that last scene between Booth and Bones, that speech was great, the way he sees things...

I can't wait for the next one

Another weird little episode of "bones," the series that I wouldn't watch if not for the sexy star Emily Deschinel. she dresses very sexy and I love it. she the best dressed actress on televison. but to the episode, in the future don't like kids discovered decompoisded bodies. his scream woke up the dead. The investigation leads to a group of peopel who uses males as horses for a little sexy pleasure. One actress Christina Cox,is a fine actress. I would love to see her again. she such promising. I can appreach the criticism of the review of "Bones," but i'm trying to be a fan of the show. I can't promise you a good rating, but I'll try to watch. Emily is thye reason.

this episode was revealing and humerous at the same time, booth and brennan are having more and more moments together showing and insight into the possible romance that has been brewing since day one! the partnership however they are both still learning from one another, mostly brennan learing as usual. there was a moment when booth and brennan where questioning a butcher when he ran brennan shouted stop or i'll kick you in the testicales (harsh if your a man but funny at the same time) after booth arrests him he turns to brennan and tells her they need to work on her cop talk! the pivotal moment for me was at the end of the episode where booth talks about making love, and for once brennan agrees and lets him win an argument. it just shows that even though some people dont want them to be together i dont see why not these two have an understanding and chemsitry that most tv series wish they had and that is why bones is so highly rated!!!
  • Booth, Bones & Pony Play!

    9.1
    "Superb"
This episode was really funny, I have to say that. They were like silly, all of them starting with Bones until Cam passing thru Zach.

First.. Angela, with the hypnotism stuff, she was scared because a bug?? xD and Hodgins trying to understand her.. he tries but it's difficult when the other person don't let you get in.

Bones first scene with Booth and Cam pretty good. Bones telling Cam that why she wants Booth and she together?? =D

Cam and Hodgins.. handcuff?? hahaha well, not that.. but she couldn't do anything with her hands.

The end of the show was good, for first time Bones admit that Booth was right in something.

    Angela found her husbands name.

Zach.. I really like the were putting Zach's situation, like.. he thinks there's nobody for him. Maybe they will add some romantic stuff for him.

I enjoy this episode. Well done, a very funny touch.

    Waiting for the next episode.
  • Booth and Brennan investigate a murder that centers around pony play.

    9.4
    "Superb"
When I first saw the commercials for this episode, I knew it would be an interesting one. Booth and Brennan investigating a case involving fetishes! The episode was very good, very funny with some unbelievable characters. One example is one of the riders 'Annie Oakley' who claimed to have loved the murdered Mr. Ed like a young girl loves her first pony. Every time she was part of a scene I was either sitting in shock or laughing. Another quirky character in this episode was the butcher who 'admired' Mr.Ed as a rider and then when asked by Booth and Brennan if he ever rode Mr. Ed, stammered something about preferring female ponies, it was hilarious. The tension between Booth and Brennan was interesting this episode and it was amusing watching Brennan defend these people to Booth. Overall an outstanding and intruiging episode, Death in the Saddle makes me wonder if it will leave a longer impact on Booth and Brennans' relationship... pony play sex dreams anyone?
  • I started watching this series with great expectation having read all of Kathy Reich's books. Series One was fine, but there were signs in Series Two that it was going downhill. Series Three has confirmed my views.

    4.8
    "Poor"
Now I accept that the characters in the TV series are different from those in Kathy Reich's books. I can live with that, but what I can't accept is the way the series has now developed into a soap opera dealing mainly with the love lives of the characters. The original concept of a forensic anthropologist helping the federal authorities has deteriorated into a unbelievable comic strip.

Now it appears that there is only one person - Special Agent Seeley Booth - in the the FBI. The Bureau doesn't seem to have any experts or specialists of its own so each week everyone in the Jefferson Institute (a thinly veiled Smithsonian Institution) drops whatever they should be doing and concentrates exclusively on the murder of the week.

Dr. Temperance Brennan even gets involved in tracking suspects down and takes part in interrogations (probably because there isn't anyone else in the FBI!). This doesn't really matter since suspects always tell the truth to any questions Seeley asks them. No one ever lies!

Having found out who the victim is the plot then always ignores them and we then get to another episode of Seeley/Temperance "will they/won't they" or the now boringly repetitive Angela/Jack on/off marriage plot.

Now I agree that the series is well produced and the actors all extremely attractive and competant but the plots are now so embarrassingly similar each week that I may well have to stop watching.

    Pity
  • Giddy Up!

    9.6

Bones and Booth investigate the death of a man who turned out to be involved in sexual role-playing games. Interesting how the the writers come up with these kind of stories.

Apart from the unusual topic of the episode it is pretty funny to see both Brennans and Booths' reactions to the investigation. Booth, being the good catholic guy, is of course uncomfortable from the beginning as he always tends to get when Bones talks to him about sex. Whether he likes to admit it or not, he does come across as sort of prude, I don't mean this in an insulting way, I think it's endearing.

Bones is more interested in this as she judges this culture from her anthropoligical view point.

The two colliding points of view make once again for a highly entertaining hour of TV. Especially since Brennan is totally aware of Booth's discomfort and she makes it a point to tease him about it.

The ending with Booth making his speech about "making love" vs. "crappy sex" was very touching. Very nice way to end the episode.
  • Pony Play?

    "Great"
I don´t think this episode was that good. I have no idea but so far this is my least favorite. Definitely S&M isn´t my favorite topic, even though I think a change in your sex life is excellent sometimes, but not with these strange behaviors.

So Angela, after dealing with stress and fighting with herself, agrees to go to a hypnosis session to remember the name of her husband.

If you don´t like the whole episode, the last scene makes it worth watching. The whole speech about making love by Booth, its meaning, the way he said it, it´s wonderful. And he found the right person to express it to.

It was interesting and revealing to see what seemed to me almost a role reversal between Booth and Brennan. At the point of seeing this episode, I was fairly new to the show, but had been able to watch a few older episodes. I gathered that Booth provided Brennan with quite a few insights into the way people think and feel...insights that Brennan seemingly disdained due to her feelings towards psychology. It was very amusing to see Booth's discomfort with the fetish presented here while Brennan was able to give him the insights towards the fetishists. Although I don't think this storyline was anywhere near the best I've seen as yet, it did offer some interesting character development.
  • Pony Play? Of course this episode is hilarious.

Any faithful Bones fans know how uncomfortable our favourite FBI agent gets with sex talk, especially when Bones is around. An extremely original case, can you name another television show where you've seen ponly play as a case? I don't think so. What's more interesting is to see the two partners have to talk about role playing and sex games, especially the ending scene. According to Booth, those people with their role playing, well, they're just wasting their time. Of course to Brennan, they're just filling their biological urges and it's totally fine. To which Booth says, making love, when two people become one, that's the real thing. Any you know what? Brennan said "you're right."
  • Great episode. Hilarious and had the good old motives of love and infidelity. When B&B go investigate the murder of a man that was killed with his feet bound and horse food in his stomach things take a twist.

    "Perfect"
A great episode that is absolutely hilarious as B&B debate about fetishes and intimate relationships. The dialogue is extremely well written. The hypnosis and seeing Angela worked up was great. Hodgins and Zack and there kooky experiment was great as well as the horse jokes that Booth pulls off. All in all a very well done episode that ends off with booth explaining what a true relationship is and what true lovemaking is. It totally fascinates Brennan and she agrees with Booth surprisingly and has no retort. The end monologue by Booth tells us how we live and hope and its that hope and faith that keeps us trying to find a MR/Mrs. Right.

i love this ep..this was like my fave ep of the season when it comes on b/c it was so funny from start to finish..booth was annoyed and booth was annoyed lol..so funny..spoiler..cams hypnosis history was very funny..and angela being afraid of the hypnosis was hilarious and sad when we see the wasp coming after her..it was so hilarious how brennan was so into it b/c it was part of a society lol...brennan was so funny w/ the forwardness and the whole concept of this sex play was just hilarious...like the whole concept and how they approached it was so funny and i was like dying of laughter..so great!
  • This was a one in a kind episode. I have never heard of anything like this episode. Who knew that there were people who treated other people like horses? I was baffled through the whole episode.

I didn't see this one coming at all.

And then for the killer to be the female doctor, well to be completely honest she just didn't seem that attached to him. She sure did feel justified in her actions. After all how else could she have been so calm and collected during her interviews? This episode was very well written.

Another observation is that as open minded as Angela is supposed to be – why does she feel so nervous about being hypnotized. After all a professional would never make you cluck like a chicken afterword! So she just needed to relax and go with the flow. After all that is what Angela does the best.

And I also love that fact that at the end of the show we get to see the softer side of Booth. He actually is a real romantic. And once again proves that he is perfect for Brannen.

In this episode of Bones, the following happens. When a decamping body is found in the woods, Bones and Booth are called in to investigate. Bones wonders why she is called in, as the body still has skin on it, but we learn she has been called in because the victim's feet are missing. But soon the feet are discovered, not too far from the body. Soon the victim is IDed and we learn that he has horse sun cream on his body, and that he also has horse food in his stomach. They soon learn that the victim was at a horse fantasy event. We soon learn that they way he was killed, is the same way in which horses are killed. Angela is hypnotised, so that she can try to remember the name of the man she married. But it doesn't go to well, but soon Angela finds the photo of her and her husband and on the back, his name is written, she soon remembers his surname, so hopefully now they can track him down. Soon the victim's rider confesses to killing him and is arrested. We end the episode with Bones and Booth discussing the case, and with Bones trying to convince him to give up meat, but it isn't working.

    7.0
    "Good"
So far, this has been the worst episode of the season. Not that it was bad or anything, it just lacked story.

Starting from the beginning, a boy finds a body in the woods. Booth and Cam are called to the scene and drag Brennan with them even though there is almost no bone to be seen. I really liked Cam in the field, but it was as if she was trying to set up BB. I also was happy to see some things from the pathological field, as we don't get to see much of that in the series. The body was extremely gross, good job! Brennan bluntly admitting to competing with Cam over their fields of science made me crack up.

I kinda feel bad for Brennan, because she doesn't get the horse jokes and it actually looks like she feels left out. Later, she researches horses on the internet and finds some horse jokes. Booth shoots down her attempt by implying that even a kid knows the jokes. The "I don't know what that means" thing that's going on here is not funny, it's heartbreaking.

The whole sm thing was way over the top. Sure, the sex thing was akward (thus funny) and all, but for me it wasn't realistic enough. There were too much suspects, or rather, it was all too easy and the suspects were dismissed too quickly. And furthermore, where the hell was the investigation? Brennen could just as well be a fbi agent. She got literally two "scientific" scenes in the whole episode! There was no struggle to find the right evidence, it was like they weren't even trying. The perpetrator just admitted her crime, while there was a minimum of forensic evidence. This is definitely not the Bones from seasons 1 and 2. That's the thing that bothers me most this season. The cases aren't the focus anymore. It's as if the writers want to get BB together as soon as possible, because all everybody's saying (asking) these days is when BB will get together. The episodes are more centered on the (romantic) relationships than on the cases and that bothers me. Like in the previous episodes this season, the stories are lightweight and instead of a good episode with a good case, we get to see Angela and Hodgins trying to find Angela's husband. BB being all cozy and flirty. Don't get me wrong, I adore BB and want them together as much as any of you, but as it is now, it's going to harm the series as we love it. The balance is already off. BB it a matter that should be handled carefully and discrete. Even though I'm a major BB shipper, I'd rather see them apart with good cases and storylines than together with crappy ones, as it is at the present.

Yeah, so, I'll stop my rant and I really hope the storylines will get better. Who cares about Angela in hypnosis, I mean how on earth could they've done that any worse? MC is a good actress, and I think she could've pulled the scene off without the crappy visuals. The things I liked in the episode (because it wasn't that bad, honestly).

+The "Stop or I'll kick you in the testicles!" scene. Definitely a great BB moment, though the camera angle was crappy.

+Of course the last scene, Booth talking about making love. It was nice to see some emotion on Brennan's face for a change and it looked like Booth's speech really got to her.

What could be improved (or whatever)

-The Angela/Hodgins storyline. Boring and not in the slightest interesting. Minimize, please.

-Zack! He should be getting more screen time. I definitely got the feeling something's happened in Iraq when he suddenly returned in the premiere and I'm really anxious to find out what.

-Storylines, cases. I already mentioned that one.

The next episode airs in two weeks (groan) and I'm hoping for a better case/story line!
