  • Creepy mind games aimed at Brennan and Booth

    9.5
    "Superb"
Epps won a stay of execution by manipulating Bones and Booth and he is doing it again. From the moment they 'discover' a skeleton he is one step ahead of them, manipulating them with his clues. The difference this time is that he has an accomplice who is continuing with his modus operandi- murdering blond girls in gruesome fashion.

Always they seem to be one step behind until with some excellent lab work from Hodgins they get an essential clue to lead them to where the last girl to be abducted is being held. This reinforces the essential links between the FBI and the squints, they complement each other in their investigations.

This time it is Bones who saves Booth from being killed.

Another dark episode full of tension but with a very tender moment at the end when Booth talks to Brennan about how killing someone exacts a steep cost.

A light note was when Booth was obviously anxious about having to interview a nun. The idea seemed to phase the good Catholic boy!
  • The perfect episode to get your friends and family into the show.

"The Blonde in the Game" is evidence enough that Bones' second season is on the right path. It effectively creates the show's nemesis, and how effective this nemesis is! It will leave fans of the show at the edge of their seats, while those uninitiated will still be interested. If you thought that no episode before this one, not even the Pilot episode were good enough to enchant your friends, then this episode will at least keep them from wondering why you enjoy the show so much. Aside from being a thrilling episode, it also touches upon existing character relationships, demonstrating that a thrilling episode does not have to completely give up character development.
  • We find a serial killer, and Booth gives Bones what she has always wanted

In this episode of Bones, the following happens. Booth and ones are called in when a dog is found with a skeleton arm in his mouth. When they manage to get to the body we see that the victim was a young teenage girl. We soon learn that she was buried in the woods between 7 and 10 years ago. Soon the team believe that the case is linked to a serial killer called Epps, who is currently on death row for 3 similar murders. When examining the bones, they learn that another victim is out there. Soon evidence leads them to believe that the 2nd victim is in a mine and so Bones and Booth head there. They soon find the body and we learn that Epps has been working with an accomplice on the outside. A necklace found on the 2nd body, is linked to a possible 3rd victim by the name of Helen. Soon they track down the man they believe to be working with Epps only to learn that he is in a wheelchair. Soon they learn that the true 2nd killer is the same guy, whose dog found the 1st body. Soon they track down where Helen is being held and head there. They find Helen, alive and as Booth goes off to attack her attacker, he tells Bones to stay with her. But of course she doesn't listen and ends up saving Booth's life. As the episode ends we see Booth giving Bones what she has always wanted, a pig named Jasper (a toy pig, but still a pig).
  • A really exciting episode.

Epps is back ( again) and you know that when you hear the name Epps that it's going to be an awesome episode. And I have to say that Heath Freeman really plays the part off Howard Epps very well. Cause Epps just gives me the creeps. I really love the scene where Brennan meets Mrs. Epps. I do agree with Brennan though, that woman is obviously crazy. I loved Booth and Brennan's relationship in this episode.. And I especially loved the ending of this episode, it was great. It was so cute of Booth to give her that mini pig: Jasper.
  • Nice serial killer episode.

Nice to reintroduce the serial killer Eps from first season, liked the cat-and-mouse game with Temp. I love serial killer stories so I enjoyed this one.

Very good opening with the dog 'finds' the body and Temp's pinecone move was a good one.

The sad thing is that women actually do fall in love with death row inmates, even marry them. Which possibly makes them as disturbed as the inmates. But the thing I find the most disturbing about the episode is that a court would actually give permission for a convicted serial killer to have a child. How twisted is that?! 1/ The child would very probably inherit his father's genetic traits, and 2/ How do you explain to the child who and what their father is? Either you lie and would have to deal with the personality disorders when they inevitably appear or you tell the child the horrific truth, which could become a self-fulfilling prophecy even if the genetic markers somehow don't kick in. I sincerely hope this is fiction and that this could never be allowed legally in real life.

The connection between Hodgins and Angela is blossoming nicely. I particularly liked how when Hodgins had his little panic attack, Angela got him to focus on her and he came up with the right answer.

    Very good episode.

in this ep of bones they find a bone in a dogs mouth and the guy is tring to get it from him. and they go over the body and it leads back to howard eps the serial killer from the first season. they play a game with him and he is giving them clues in the form of stories like regualar killers due. and they come across a girl in a mind and then they notice there is a girl missing and then they do more invesgating and they realize that the guy they saw in the beging is the killer this was a good ep i thought and very interesting.

What an interesting episode. This is why I watch Bones! The excitement, the adventure and chemistry among the characters.

I liked how B&B were very defensive around Epps, obviously since they werent going to let him into their minds and hearts again. They both knew that he wanted Brennan to somehow never forget him by making her something she wouldnt do. At the end, she did it in order to save Booth.

I didnt like that scene were Hodgins was all stressed, I thought it was very unlike him. Favorite scene: The last one... What an amazing scene, Booth carefully aproaching Brennan in a moment he knew she wanted to be alone but at the same time she needed company. Jasper was the most beautiful of the details. How a man can remember that and give it to a woman in the most right moment. I loved the scene just the way it was. Nothing less, nothing more.

  • Loved this ep, Body in mine and german.

    9.9
    "Superb"
I loved the end of this episode it really shows the relationship development between Bones and Booth. Bones opening up and becoming more comfortable in his presence. And I also have to mention that with the body found in the mine that was found face up but when booth mentioned it to the wife he told her that it was face down. I think this was a way to see how the wife reacted to the description on how the body was found as she would have know about Epps M.O and I believe that this was a way for Booth to tell if she maybe the accomplice or have any information about who really was helping him. And I don’t speak a lot of German but I really do not care if she mispronounced something because I know that we are all human and can not always get everything perfect.
  • Very nice

As someone with german as my nativ speech I have to say, that I had to look here to know what Epps said though I listened to it twice Oo

Brennan spelled it out much much better and you could really understand what she said. I still so dislike Cam. She is like Brennan just with a big "[capital] I am the boss I am the boss" above her head. It is kinda cute that Brennan is bad with people because she trys her best beeing her and doesn't see that she says anything wrong. Cam says the wrong words on purpose.

I so loved Angelas big part in thid episode I wish we had more Angela moments like that.

Geez Epps is so creepy and it is even creepier that he can win from the point where he stands.

    very creepy!

i love this episode breenan and booth find a body guarded by a dog and it turns out that the hands and feet were bound and that lead them to the conclusiton that howard epps who is on death row killed her. and is playing a game with them. there is also deffinetly some sexual tention between angela and jack when angela calls him hodgy and then looks unconfertable when everyone stares at her.

at the end of the show booth gives brenan a little pig there was also some definet feelings between them you would be blind not to see it.

i love this episod you should definetly watch it
  • Bones meets Silence of the Lambs

    9.6

Another edge of the seat episode.

I keep saying this but Bones just gets better and better with each episode.

In this episode we are treated to a cat and mouse game between Brennan/Booth and Howard Epps a death row prisoner who appeared in last seasons show.

A body of a young girl is found murdered and decomposed and all the clues point to Epps hany work, the only problem is this body was killed whilst Epps was serving on death row.

Naturally Brennan and Booth go to question Epps regarding the killing but Epps is not forthcoming with answers but gives cryptic clues instead leading to a new body and eventually a new killer.

All in all a very exciting episode.... long may they continue.
  • I think this is one of the best ones of this season!

I like this one. It was confusing trying to figure out who was killing the girls and how it pussed them to their limits. And the whole Booth giving Bones a pig was amazing! I couldn't get over it, I watched over and over. They should have more episodes like this one. Unlike the latest one! Yeah I like this one WAY better then the other one! And ever since I've watched this episode I want David Boreanaz (aKa: Booth) to give me a pig!! :D But I didn't like how they ended it! It kiled me, why would you end it like that?! 2 more seconds they would have been kissing! gah....
  • Another great episode! Loved it!

    This was another great eisode!

I loved the wholr Angela and jack thing! They had two really great scenes. Like when he is freeking out cause he cen no fugure something out and it might cost a girl her life and he is all stressed out and angela comes amd comes him down it was so cute! And Angela was calling him by his first name!

The whole Brennen wanting a pig thing was so funny! I almost pied my pants laughting! And then at the end we see Booth giving her the little plastic pig! It was do cute, I so wanted them to kiss! They were so close!

And when brennen shot that guy to save Booth! I all most cried!

I also noticed that Zach seemed a little different this episode. Like, he was a little less squintish and more like booth. it was a little weird but still good.

And there was almost no Cam! I was so happy!

It was also good to see a good Brennen Angela scene! I can not wait for next weeks episode! the preview looks so good!
  • Howard Epps is back, and Brennan gets a pet pig.

    9.6
    "Superb"
What I really liked about this episode was how it managed to keep me at the edge of my seat. We all know Epps as the man who outsmarted Bones and her team, and I was extremely curious to see if he will be able to do it again. He still looked as creepy as ever, hair or no hair.

Angela did a great job on being the emotional support for both Bones and Hodgins (I have never seen him that pressured before). It's great that such a character exists in the midst of these squints; it gives them a fresh perspective on how to deal with "the living". I honestly can't imagine the team without her.

Oh, and her calling Hodgins "Hodgy" was kinda cute. LOL.

Dr. Saroyan didn't have much of a role in this episode. Maybe because she and Bones have come to an understanding the last time so the tension between them has somehow been lifted.

    Zack was his usual self.

Kicking myself into shipper mode, I was half expecting Bones to plant a big one on Booth when he gave her the pig. That would've really made my day. ^_^

All in all, another great episode. So, did Epps outsmart Bones again? I guess Booth was right, Epps did outsmart them if they think he did.
  • Wish they wouldn't go back to old episodes so soon in the series

    9.1
    "Superb"
When the show has been on the air for more than 3 years then it is ok to go back to old episodes. Felt sorry for the killer's wife. A person like that you just want to slap. Liked that Bones killed the guy and actually had an emotional reaction to it. She is finally showing signs of being a human.
  • We go from Bones "I want a gun to shoot people" to Bones actually shooting and killing someone who thinks thats ironic?

    9.7
    "Superb"
With the return of Howard Epps we look back to the last time we saw him in "The Man on Death Row" and see what's changed. As I said Bones went form wanting a gun to actually killing someone. It was a sad episode. Bones is trying to deal with taking a life towards the end and trying to convince Booth that it hasn't affected her when it really has. It think that this episode will bring Booth and Bones closer together because of that.

I loved Angela! She was brilliant with Hodgins and their cute little conversation and truely amazing when she tried to get the answer out of him when Brennan and Booth were freaking him out. I loved Angela when she talked to Caroline Epps too I love Angela's abilities to talk to people better than anyone else on the team it made the episode even better.

Howard Epps was brilliant and a very interesting serial killer I think Brennan wanted to hit him again too. This season has been quite different the team has been getting tricked a lot. This was the second time (I think) That they've gotten to save someone before they turned up in the lab, which was a nice change.

All in all this was a pretty good episode. I'm excited about next week's. Our characters are changing a lot so next week should be interesting.
  • Bones becomes embroiled in a game with a serial killer

    8.1
    "Great"
I don\'t know. I kinda liked it, kinda didn\'t. It all seemed a bit too constructed. There were the obvious hannibal overtones from the first film, and I find that a bit weak. There were some good interactins, and the game theory stuff was interesting. But I think there was a confusion as to what was happening here. I felt that Bones herself was showing character traites that were against the character they had built. She seemed to be saying tha the game and her concern for the victims was making her unable to do her job, this is not the objective focused character they have created.
  • ...aww heck, I LOVED IT!!!

    10
    "Perfect"
This episode was awesome! The show keeps getting better and better as the season goes on, and it's only the second episode! Imagine how good it's gonna get! I loved the simplicity of how Brenna got the doberman to get away from the remains. The fact that they brought Epps back for this episode made it soo cool, even though he still thoroughly creeps me out. I hate how he treats his victims deaths like a game, its so horrible! What a creepy guy. I think some of the clues he gave them were pretty easy, though. Well they were to Brennan and the Squints, anyways. And the was he taunted that man with no legs! Jeez, this guy is bad!

This episode was one of my favorite of the season so far! And oh my gosh, did you see the trailer for next week! Who do we all think Booth slept with? Well, I guess we will just have to wait and see! 'Till next time, then!
  • Funny with some serious/sad undertones.

    8.9
    "Great"
There's a body in the woods, nicely guarded by a huge dog. Brennan throws him a pine cone. "Tell animal control I need those bones."

Angela flirting with Hodgkins (not so sure I like that, he won't keep up with her).

Brennan and Booth meet Epps , again. Nice way of introducing him by having to tell Camille about him.

Then lots of victims which Epps couldn’t have killed because he was in prison. So he must have an accomplice. They were all playing golf though.. I thought that sort of got lost a bit. It was slightly confusing (I already forgot how they got to the postal worker/anthrax/abandoned sorting centre...where did they find traces on??) Don’t remember seeing much of Zach either.

And I’m not so good with remembering names so there may have been a bit too many victims for me, but in the end it came together nicely and they rescued the last victim. I liked that there was German in it (handy if you get the meaning and know what’s coming ;)) And I liked the "I can't do both" from the wheelchair user - would have been nice if he somehow was involved in stead of him being a dead end, sure seemed like he might have gone for a blonde by what he was watching. Lots of funny moments here: the dog/Brennan was not the one that needed protection - better not take her then/ Booth to the wife : It was our pleasure. Brennan "What?!"/ Oh god I have to talk to a nun/ Zach overenthusiastic about the freemasons sign...it all makes sense. Er.. that's the cartographic symbol for a mine../Hodgkins flipping under pressure and informing them his uncle wanted to be buried standing up ( er.. what??)/ I HATE the serial killer wall of fame and then: Jasper the pig!

But with a LOT of serious/sad undertones. Manipulative serial killer and his victims and their family, Brennan unable to deal with the dead girls parents, and Angela taking over and helping her see Epps was messing with her head. ( My god, Ange, what kind of boyfriends did you have ?!). His wife realizing she had no chance, and at the end where Brennan had to shoot him - obviously the first time she took a life. Good episode!
  • I'm speechless!!! That one was AMAZING! This show is getting better and better with each episode!!

    "Perfect"
A truly amazing episode for Bones with a truly amazing final scene!

The plot was incredible it kept me and my family without knowing till the end and not just for the killer but for the motivation for Epps to do this. Hodgins/Angela... what can I say?? It's definitely going to happen... just like that, it will.

Booth/Brennan friendship is in another level at this episode. From the start he kept talking to her not Cam! and that was just what so many of us wanted to see. The two of them working together with the team without that stranger that they threw on us. The original team is the best! And him from the begining trying to get her a mascot... and trying to convince Zack and Hodgins, that showed to me how he really cares about her.

At the end they bond more throught a tragedy that's sad but he was there for her and not only because she saved him but because he is her friend and understands her situation.

She will never be what Epps wants to, because she appreciates live and it's not ok with what she did. She understand it and accept it but will never be totally in peace with it.

So in conclusion, this is one of the bests Bones' episodes and with the best scene that have aired yet. Excellent episode, a MUST SEE!!
  • Bones is caught in a sick game where a serial killer is giving her clues to the victims.

    9.6

It was really cool bringing back Epps. He is crazy and did have an untold story. I loved that gave Angela a bit more of a role in this episode. She has so much talent and has always been more of a people person than some of the others. I like the budding romance that is going on between Angela and Hodges. It’s cute and I can see good things between them, but in the future I can also see bad things. If they do go out and then break up that could cause a lot of tension between the squints. Booth was so cute at the end giving Bones the pig.
  • Finally back to Booth and Brennan!

Again Booth and Brennan screen time that we missed last

Week as they dig up skeletal remains of a young girl and find out that a death row inmate will kill again as he has an accomplice.

They must race against the clock to help save this other victim apparently still alive before she becomes another casuality.

Edge of your seat type show IMO!
  • Just when I found myself slipping out of the show's momentum the writers throw this one at us out of no where!

Absolutely loved the tension in this particular episode! They are getting better at keeping the identity of the bad guy hidden for longer and the tension is thick enough to suffocate in. The side joke of getting Brennan a pet pig was typical Booth but it definetly kept the episode light when things were getting deep. I'm happy to see Hodgins and Angela finally getting along and that Hodgins is finally stepping up to the plate and defying his lower self esteem that seems to only apply to approaching Angela. With the preview for next week's episode I'm sure we'll all be waiting on edge to see the tension shift back to Brennan and Booth as well as some other characters that are remaining unknmown to us viewers so far. Overall, it was a classic Bones episode that has made me fall for the series all over again. A job definetly well done!
  • The Ultimate Mind Game.

    8.7
    "Great"
Dr. Brennan, Agent Booth, and the rest of the squints are trapped in a mind game from the very moment they find a dog guarding the skeletal remains of of a young teenage girl. After reviewing the bones and discovering the way she died, Booth and Brennan realize that this is the M.O. of Howard Epps, a serial killer that the team dealt with awhile ago. When Booth interrogates Epps, Epps does not deny his involvement. Further more, he leaves small hints in his words with Booth. The hints he leave turn out to lead to another corpse. From then on, the team is forced to play Howard's mind game as he leads them from one corpse to another while in jail. All the while, Howard's true goal to the game remains a mystery.

This episode was one of the darkest stories I've seen so far on Bones. The true maniacal pleasure displayed from Epps could cause anyone to shiver to the bone. Throughout the episode, Epps plays with Brennan's mind, trying to break her and the rest of the team. And the sad part is that, in a way, it works. From minute to minute, the suspense builds as more and more of Epps clues are revealed. And when the team figures out that the next victim only has twenty-four hours left to live, the episode steamrolls into action. Finally, at the end, things go out with a bang (literally) and the final scene with Brennan and Booth is amazing. Booth does know exactly how to cheer up Brennan. I have to applaud the actor who played Howard Epps for such an astounding character. In fact, all the actors did a phenomenal job. The entire episode was extremely clever, and the mind game played was both exciting and terrifying. The winner of the game will always be unclear. Howard Epps is truly a twisted character, and I really don't see how his new wife (Caroline Epps) could possibly still love him after what he's done. The final confrontation between Brennan, Booth, and Epps was terrifying, and I was quickly reminded of why I hate serial killers so much.
  • Mind games... Jack/Angela... Booth/Brennan and Jasper.

    9.8
    "Superb"
This was one of my favorite episodes. We get a lot of mind games from Epps, and it's interesting to see how the story plays out and why Epps toyed with them so much. We don't see much of Cam, and IMO, it's just enough. Angela and Jack were cute in the episode. They go well together. I loved how Angela helped at the end, they make a great team. It was also fun to see Angela do something else than what she always does. She actually got to interact with living people. Like Booth said to Cam; she has more experience with living people. :) We got a good dose of Booth/Bones tonight. Im really happy. I lved it at the end when Booth gave her the pig, it was so cute! I wanna see more. Now I really can't wait till next week.
