  • Caroline gets Emotional?!?

Caroline gets emotional and Booth shows his sniper skills - This episode helps revive the otherwise flat-lined season
  • I loved this episode!! I can't wait for tomorrow's episode, although I have to watch it online but i'm looking forward to it

    9.5
this episode was so awesome!!!! When The Gravedigger's head just exploded, that was so cool. I really hope that Bones and Booth get together, don't get me wrong I like Hannah, but they only seem to have great sex in common. I can't wait to see Angela's and Hodge's baby!!!! This show rocks hard!!! This show has inspired me to become a Criminal Psychologist, like Sweets. Anyone else thinks that it's not fair to Hannah that she's with someone that is in love with someone else (even though he won't admit it anymore. I hope that they bring back Zach for at lest alittle while!!! Bone's Rocks!!!!!moreless
  • I really liked this episode, but . . .

    9.5
why didn't Booth shoot that SOB Broadsky in the leg? He had plenty of cause to take him in, even aside from the murders, what with Broadsky buying land in Booth's name AND blowing up a building on that land. Both of those things are crimes. It made no sense for him to just let him go like that, and I didn't think it was a very Booth-like thing to do, even if the guy was his mentor. Also, his hands seemed shaky on the gun, which didn't seem very Booth-like either. Other than this issue, I found this episode very enjoyable to watch, especially Brennan's interactions with Max and Sweet's interactions with Caroline.moreless

I have been getting back into Bones recently after deciding to drop the show from my viewing schedule, but it has been missing that classic episode as of late and you might think that with The Gravedigger involved, that would happen, but apparently not.

The opening scene in the prison transport truck was good though and the rifle taking her head off was one of the most graphic things I have seen on FOX ever, but after that it just went downhill. I have no desire to see Seely in a chase through a forest.

Okay episode, don't get why people loved it so much though.moreless
  • It's about time!

That we actually get a show like we used to... I missed the relationship between Bones and Booth and not the almost getting together that's been going on for years but also the closeness and the friendship. Booth had been so cold this year, for a guy that's supposed to have moved on he sure still is mad as... I felt relieved that the gravedigger was the one who gets shot and dies, it was long overdue such a despicable character! Poor Sweets who suddenly felt so insecure about his work, he's always helping out the others and even someone like Booth ask for his advice and help so he must be good! Glad that he got his confidence back at the end.moreless

Trivia, Notes, Quotes and Allusions

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (2)

    • In the beginning, Taffet is talking to Sweets and she mentions that he is to testify at her appeal.  But an appellate court does not hear testimony, only trial courts take testimony.

    • Booth's supposedly record-holding shot of "over a kilometer" (over 0.62 miles) would be considered unexceptional in the real world. Modern snipers regularly and successfully operate at that range, and (as of the episode's air-date) the record for the longest confirmed kill made by a sniper is 2.475 kilometers, or a little over 1.5 miles.

  • QUOTES (11)

    • Jake: Go ahead, jump the fence, don't wait for the warrant.
Booth: (jumps the fence) I don't need a warrant, this land belongs to Seeley Booth.

    • Angela: I just keep thinking how awful it would be to watch a baby become a child and then lose that child to somebody like Heather Taffet.
Hodgins: When we find out who shot her, I'm sending a gift basket.
      Angela: Hodgins.
      Hodgins: What?
Angela: That's taking it a little far, don't you think?
      Hodgins: A gift basket?
Angela: No, honey, your attitude. You're suggesting that you'd reward a killer for killing.
Hodgins: In this case, I would. I'd drive him to Mexico.

    • Caroline: There is a long list of people who wanted this woman dead. You know who leaps to my mind? Dr. Brennan's father.
      Booth: Max?
Caroline: He took a shot at the woman before. Maybe he got nervous when he heard "appeal." Thought he had to come keep you people safe, like a lifeguard.
Booth: Well, I'll tell you what. Supposedly, he's in Mexico, but I'll put him on the list.
Caroline: And while you're at it, put yourself on there too.
Booth: Me? I was standing right next to you.
      Caroline: Don't worry, cher. I told you, I couldn't see a thing.
Booth: You gotta be kidding me. (Caroline walks away) Come on! Huh?

    • Booth: What happened to you?
      Sweets: Caroline hollered at me.

    • Caroline: I did think this could have been you.
Max: Well, it's nice to know I'm still suspected. I appreciate that; thank you. Thank you very much.

    • Caroline: I've never been so scared… as when her head… flew to pieces? Don't tell anybody… I messed myself.
      Sweets: You did?
Caroline: We're all just people, cherie. You're an expert with the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Now, who's Heather Taffet?
      Sweets: Dead serial killer.
Caroline: You're damn straight. Dr. Brennan has her head all rigged up, spinning like a Christmas tree. It's over. She can't get to any of us anymore.

    • Brennan: I have not seen any evidence that proves that the same person who shot the Gravedigger also killed this victim.
Wendell: Are you suggesting that the sniper was looking for a place to shoot and just so happened upon a dead girl in a bathtub full of lye?
Brennan: Your Socratic question constitutes a powerful argument.

    • Booth: We're looking for a trained sniper. (to Sweets) Will you tell her?
Caroline: He tested as an expert marksman.
Booth: Okay, maybe he made a good shot once in a while, all right, but he was all sweaty and nervous.
Caroline: You can't exonerate a man for excessive perspiration.

    • Brennan: Well, is there anything you can do to determine the original form of the bullet before it was fired?
Angela: (chuckling) You mean, can I un-squash it?
      Brennan: Yes. I-it needs un-squashing.

    • Caroline: Don't just stand there! We got a shrink who needs shrunk and a headless child-killer in a puddle of brains.
Booth: Well, who's gonna take the witness statements?
Caroline: Does it matter? That shot came out of nowhere, straight from God.

    • Taffet: I'm the lucky one, Lance. If my appeal falls through, I die. But you're forced to live every day as a repressed, immature imbecile spouting canned theories to people who don't really care. Everyone knows who's the weakest link in the chain. You testify at my appeal, and I'm gonna walk.
