  • I enjoyed this episode EXCEPT . . .

Angela and Hodgins getting together was a travesty that should never be repeated. I actually stopped watching this show because I found that the two of them as a couple filled me with revulsion. Separate, I can handle them, even like them, but together, well, it's just nauseating. Their entire relationship seemed inauthentic and forced to me. Just recently, I started watching reruns of Bones again on TNT and I also started watching the actual Season 4 episodes, and I'm glad that I did, but when I watch the reruns, if Angela and Hodgins are in even a vaguely romantic scene together, I have to mute my tv and look away or just leave the room. I can't be the only one who hated their relationship this much, can I? Anyway, I would have given this episode a 9.5 if it wasn't for that awful swingset scene. I just pray pray pray they don't get back together during Season 5!
  • A tearjerker…

This case was really sad, I mean it's always sad when someone gets murdered, but I always find it worse when it is a child. In this case 9-year-old beauty pageant star was murdered and to top it off, she was murdered by another contested. So yeah this case really was a tearjerker. Hodgins and Angela finally have a date. I really like it how he took her to a swing for their first that was really sweet and thoughtful of him. Booth and Brennan were once again awesome, their interaction in this episode was just really cute. I especially love the ending, when he decides to stay with Brennan instead of going with Cam.
  • A very disturbing episode about child beauty pageants.

This episode touches on a subject I have incredible distaste for – child beauty pageants. What kind of sicko parent puts a 9 year old girl in make-up, dyes her hair and dresses her in skimpy clothing, tells her to act sexy, parading her for the world to gawk at?! Is it any wonder there are pedophiles when this is the kind of fodder they can feast on? Disgusting. Some people should never be allowed to procreate.

As much as you hope it's the evil mother, it's actually a terrified 9 year old who panicked when she accidentally pushed Briana and Briana died. Again they never say what will happen to the child legally, but in this case it is so obviously an accident that probably (hopefully) no charges will be brought.

Hodgins finally asks Angela out and despite the doom-and-gloom from Cam and Brennan, he does the incredibly sweet and thoughtful thing of taking her to swings. Hodgins has a great classic car. Terrified of a disaster, Angela pulls the plug, breaking Hodgins' heart.

A very strong episode, very emotional.

A 10 year old girl was found death, Hodgins and Angela go on a date.... Bones and Booth investigate beauty pageant contestants and girls mom... This episode was so cool. It was funny when Hodgins reacted on Angelas 'Yes, I'll go out with you'! What really took my breath was when Hodgins remembered what Angela said that she likes swings, so he took her to a park!

That was so sweet! He is really thoughtful and caring.

This thing with the case surprised me,it showed how moms can be bossy and outrageous when it comes to beauty pageants and kids can be so mean.

In this episode of Bones, the following happens. When a body is discovered in a water filtration system, Bones and Booth are called in to investigate. Bones soon identified the victim as a girl aged between 8 – 10 years old. They soon learn that she has had her hair died, is wearing makeup and that she has also had veneers fitted.

We soon learn that she is a beauty queen and we learn that she disappeared a few months ago during a pageant. We soon learn that she was killed when her neck was broken. Hodgins asks Angela out on a date and at first she says no. During the investigation we learn that her mother had her on medication, made her seep in a corset and also kept her on a calorie controlled diet, which she was on for at least 2 years before her death. When they go through CCTV footage they find footage of the mother fighting with her daughter, shortly before she disappeared. Angela goes to see Bones and asks her for advice on what to do about Hodgins. And then she changes her mind and tells Hodgins that they are on for a date. And so that night he takes her out to play about on some swings. And surprisingly the date goes very well.

Soon the evidence leads them back to the pageant and makes them believe that the killer is in fact one of the contestants in the competition (who are all children). When they confront one of the girls, she breaks down and confesses to what happened. She admits to killing the victim, because she wanted to win. Angela tells Hodgins that the date was great, but if they start seeing each other and things go wrong, she doesn't want it to destroy work and everyone that they work with. And so she tells him that they simply now have to be friends. That night when the lab is empty, Booth has to make a choice between going home with Cam or staying and helping Bones. He chooses Bones which proves that he does have feelings for her. And besides, only a few moments earlier he basically told her that she was beautiful, thus making me believe more so that he loves her.
  • Great episode. URST, with booth and brennan was crazy, it almost spilled out through the screen.

Great episode. URST, with booth and brennan was crazy, it was almost like we were screaming at them to tone it down a bit, because hey, we love the URST. It was fantastic how the writers didnt give in to any of the red herrings they placed within the episode. Angelas date with hodgens was sweet, but it could have been expanded, alot. more air time, plus it would have been nice to see the swings lit up with fairty lights. They need to show a real connection with them both, but its not present. Slow to start, but this epidoe pushed a pivital issue adressing the sexualisation of child beauty pagents.
  • This was a very solid episode. A 10 year old was found death, and the Bones team come to the conclusion that it was another kid that killed her.

This was a very solid episode. A 10 year old was found death, and the Bones team come to the conclusion that it was another kid that killed her.

This episodes shows the bad that parents do to their children in these types of modeling contests. The mother of the 10-year old completely changed her child with all that makeup and strict diet.

Hodgins and Angela go for a date and whilst everyone thinks it will flop, the date went perfectly well. The problem is that they work with each other, and Angela is really afraid that it will end up badly thus decides to stop it before it starts. But Hodgins leaves her with a dilemma, when he asks her what will happen if it doesn't stop.

Meanwhile it seems that there are some sparks between Booth and Bones. They are really becoming to gel together in their own strange way.
  • Booth and Bones find the skeleton of a child beauty queen. The murder weapon is one of the concrete things in parking lots. She was pushed, broke her neck and was kicked into a storm drain nearby. The murderer is a contestent who accidently killed her.

I loved this episode. It was definitely one of the saddest episodes of the whole season, but it is one of the best. It is also one of the funniest episodes of the season. The Girl with a Curl had a little bit of everything. There were funny moments, sad moments, romantic moments, and a surprise ending that I ,and probably most people, definitely did not see coming. It goes to show that one little accident can radically alter the course of many different peoples' lives. All in all this was truly a fantastic episode and an absolute must see for all Bones fans.

Booth is in serious trouble by sleeping again with his old friend, the funny part is every body know, except for Bones, and she is starting to take a different interesting in Booth, I hope that relation never have to happen because the the show will loose interest. The others two nuts finally go out on a date the funny part is that Angela said that she will rather only be a fiend. I cant wait to see what is going to happen.

    Good bye...

So again, interesting episode. A little creepy and severe when it comes to what these women put their daughters through just to see their own dreams come true. Just to be beautiful and popular. The plot was excellent, well developed, from one suspect to the other.

I love Booth. The way he convinces Brennan to socialize, "you´re a girl", that was wonderful. What a sweet gesture when he brings her to her feet. His hand on her back... I also liked how he acted around Brennan when Cam was near. Very careful, as if looking for her approval. Or disapproval.

Ange and Hodgings, so sweet with the swing scene.

Favorite moment: Last scene... Breathtaking... Oh Booth. You just can tell the desire in his eyes, his passion for Brennan. She´s so naive, but in it she desires him as well and acts casual around him. What a beautiful moment when both stare at each other´s eyes...

There are very strange people in this world. . . Are you one of them ? ? Come on, they are children ! ! How can you do this?? I think they got no life... If I was one of them I killed myself ! !

Also it was a good episode. Ange and Hodge kiss each other :D It was so sweet... And now Tempe and Booth^^ We'll wait ( almost every episode )

    But Ange wants to be a friend :( Poor Hogde. . . Sorry, I need words. . . . . . . . . . . Yes 100^^
  • Well

it was ok.. the case per se wasn't that interesting but we could see that Booth and Temperance are really getting along well. Back at the beginning of the show, we saw that he already respected her but didn't have that much intimacy they have now and probably wouldn't skip sure sex to stay playing "squints" with Brennan.

I think by now we can see that the pilot episode sumary was wrong. By their relationship back compared to today's, we can clearly see that they worked together but didn't have that need or will to be around each other more than necessary..

Sharing personnal experiences, saving your partner's life.. being there to confort each other.. that's what we've been seen through this one season and a half period. When I finished watching this episode I remember Alias. Sidney and Vaughn relationship. First it was all work, then their relationship grew.. a lot of things happened along the way.. and finally they got together and stayed together until the end of the show..

I think when the romance and love tension grew unbearable to avoid.. they will finally hook up.. and then we'll have some episodes with them getting in argues all the time, jealousy stuff.. wow.. it will be awesome!

But it seems we still have to wait a little bit, according to the producers.. Well.. let's enjoy!!

When the body of a ten-year olg girl is found in a piping system, an entirely new mystery arrives. After finding that her hair was bleeched, her teeth were veneered, and she had been wearing far too much makeup, the team identifies her as a beauty pagent queen that had gone missing. Becuase there wer so many possible suspects that would have motives to harm Briana, the main suspect changes many times. The final conclusion is quite startling and leaves everyone surprised. Though I thought this episode was okay, i don't think it was one of the better episodes. There are some exciting new points in "The Girl with the Curl", though. This episode is definitly full of romance and I do recommend seeing it.
  • This wasn't a really good episode of Bones.

    8.1
    "Great"
I don't know why this was what they came up with for the return of Bones. After a month of no Bones you would think that they'd start with a good one but they didn't. It wasn't that it was bad but it wasn't good either. This one was just missing something and that's worse then just plain awful.

Okay I liked the case it held my interest. I'm with Brennan though with wondering why people spend so much time with make up and looks. The kid being killed by another kid in the pageant was more interesting than if they'd had it be the mom or brother.

Hodgy asking Ange out on a date was good for the episode and Angela asking Brennan for dating advise was hilarious and I loved how Cam joined in even if I did wanna wack her. Brennan and Booth were great when doing the questionings.

Bren being accused of being a molester just didn't belong there and it led to a lot of things sounding really wrong. Ange turning down Hodgy wasn't done well. And Cam and Booth were like flirting way too much and Hodgins making indos didn't help with the "I wanna puke now factor."

Booth and Bones at the end were really good though arguing about Tai food. It was a decent episode but something was missing and even though I can't say exactly what it was it made the episode painful to watch.
  • A beauty pagent queen is found dead in a storm drain later finding out the murderer was another jealous beauty pagent contestent that wasn't as beautiful as her. The murderer was sticking up for her brother when the beauty pagent victim made fun of him. o

I thought it was ridiculous. This episode made beauty contestants look so bad! The little girl that played Haiyley was alright. The only people that were good were the series regulars. I tuned in only because I had nothing else to do.

I thought they should have killed Liza or Meagan those girls were annoying!!! Well personaly if I was Hailey in that situation I would have killed Brianna too. Jeeze i wouldn't of just pushed her in a storm drain....well I guess I just won't tune in for the next episode. don't mean to offend anyone but this is how i feel.
  • A body of a 9 year old girl is found in a water cleansing place and she turns out to be a beauty pagent queen. The mother and father are suspects and so is this emo kid. Eventually they find out that the killer is another contestant who pushed the girl.

The Girl With the Curl is one of the best episodes this season. There was a twist of the normal booth/brennan crime fighting and some Juan Bonay beauty queen death. It also has some romantic scenes. Finally Hodgela happened except for their perfect date and them having such a great time it ended horribly when angela said that if it went bad it would go very bad saying that they should just be friends. In the end of the show there was a slight seelperance when they were eating donuts and booth said something about brennan not having to worry about her appearance because she is structured well, then cam walked by seeming to want booth to come but then leaves after he decides to stay with brennan. They order take out and finsh the report on the case. One day i hope they get together. The Girl With the Curl was defininently the best episode this season so far. I cant wait until next week!!
  • Fine episode: a crime story somewhat reminiscent of a real life crime, the JonBenet Ramsey case. I found there to be a nice balance between the procedural story and character development.

    9.8
    "Superb"
As "Bones" creator Hart Hanson has said in recent interviews, "We can't go full soap, and we certainly don't go full procedural. Every episode, we walk that line."

It's a fine line that the writers must walk as a tip too much one way or another will cause some viewer segment to criticize: too procedural or too soapy.

Personally, I don't watch a fiction show to learn about medical-crime-forensic procedures (documentaries do that better). I enjoy most those episodes exposing the dynamics between the story's characters. I suppose I agree with Hanson when he commented in a recent interview: "If you don't like the humor or the two leads in 'Bones,'" he says, "you don't like the show. Some shows are just safer. Our show is more of a gamble. It's a more specific taste than something like '24,' certainly than the procedural shows where you know exactly what you're getting."

This episode gives the viewer more clues as to the direction we will see the characters going this season, particularly the leads, when at the end of the day Booth foregoes an opportunity to go off with Cam and elects to stay with Brennan for Thai take-out dinner.

    (From an 8.06 interview)

"To me," Boreanaz says, "it's always been about character work and relationships. I could give a rat's ass about the procedural stuff. That doesn't do a thing for me."

I'm with you at that one David... :)
  • After it's hiatus the Bones crew are back

    10
    "Perfect"
It's been a couple of weeks since the last episode of Bones was aired due to the Baseball and i for one could not wait for it's return...... and i was not disappointed.

This show just gets better and better.... This weeks episode concentrated on the death of a 10 year old beauty pageant contestant and the little girls body being found decomposed, naturally it's up to Brennan and Booth to track down the murderer, of course we are thrown into thinking it's a number of subjects until the real killer is found.

I have to admit that though this episode is possibly the best one so far it was a little disconcerting involving the death of a minor who is forced by her over-bearing mother to dress older, wear make-up, get her teeth veneered and use hormone replacements etc to win competitions at all cost's, unfortunately this is common practice in the world of beauty queen pageants.

But a part from this this episode brought two things closer together, Angela and Hodgins plus Brennan and Booth, Angela and Hodgins went on there first date which went better than everyone thought but will it continue, also at the end of the episode we saw a little spark between Brennan and Booth, personally i do hope these two get it together, a part from Cam who didn’t contribute much there was Zack who is becoming Jeffersonian Institutions own resident comic and does not know it.
  • The way the characters are being thrown into these social situations is something out of a soap opera.

    9.4
    "Superb"
I don't like the way Booth is being written. He is sleeping with Cam but flirting with Bones and then he flirts with anything in a skirt. They are making it look like he just got out of college and is trying to make a trophy wall of conquests. I know that they are trying to write a character that is conflicted and flawed, but this is not the way to endear him to the female audience. They are going to turn on him and it will be a big hit for the show. And the way they are writing it that they are giving each other those sideways glances and the nervous answers and no one is catching on. Come on Bones can see a crooked back at 30 feet but can't see a guilty trist at 30 inches, come on people. They should stick to the whole I killed for a living and now am making amends angle. And the whole Angela not wanting a relationship at work is something wacky too, but I will comment on that another time.
  • The team investigates the death of a 9-year-old girl beauty pageant star. The girl's competitor's parents and siblings soon become suspects. And Hodgins and Angela finally go on a date.

This episode shows some great writing.

Wonderful balance of personal story lines and of the case story line, it was a great episode to come back to and well worth the wait.

Though I’m getting a bit worried with the number of killers the are pre-teen, this episode (like all of the rest) shows tact when dealing with such circumstances.

Finally Hodgins and Angelina kiss, at the end of a perfect date who knew Hodgins was a romantic? With the end scene showing more attraction between Booth and Brennon, which the writers have slowly brought into the show.

I eagerly await the next episode
  • This show continues to impress me. :-)

This was a top notch well written, well executed show. It had the perfect balance of romance, character development and story. It's rare to get a combination like this all in one episode. The Booth and Brennan moments, the Cam and Booth moments, Angela and Hodgins; combine that with the storyline of child pageant stars. When Brennan was feeling up the contestants to find an uneven backside was hilarious. Her one track science mind provides many funny moments. The issue of dating at the work place is being handled in a great matter. It is well thought out instead of just throwing couples together like it's Dawson's Creek. The show is intelligent and I love it.

After 1 month of having Bones withdrawl, finally! Here it is, a new episode and what an episode!

-The plot: cleaver, very cleaver, just not the same story in which a sick man kinapped and murdered a little girl. Nicely done, it kept changing from one suspect to another and at the end it was the least one you expected. The writers are getting better and better, sometimes Bones is not as great on the plots but they are getting there. -Hodgins/Angela: I so knew this would happen! And not because I read spoilers, because it was the side story that the writers had to make to keep us away from Booth/Brennan. At that's why I didn't like the idea when they started with it a couple of episodes back. At the end of this episode, I really liked it. It stoped seing forced to me. Now will have to wait and see what happens with those two. They are cute and they can be very happy, I think.

-Zack: nice to see him all grown up... I saw a lot of character develop on this episode.

-Cam: do I have to say something about her?? I DON'T WANT TO!

-Booth/Bones: WOW!!! just, WOW!!! That final scene was amazing!!! Those two have a lot of chemistry and it's being a great ride to see them grow as friends and coworkers. From the pilot, when Booth just hated her and she hated him back to that scene, is a lot!!!

In conclusion... I LOVED the episode. The only bad thing is Cam and I guess I'll have to start to watch the episodes in mute when she is on the screen or just tape them and fast forward throught her scenes, because she is now oficially on the opening credits and that just means that my favorite show is not as it used to be anymore and that there is no hope of getting it back.
  • Kids' fight gone wrong.

    9.5
    "Superb"
    1. It was nice having Cam in the background. It was also kind of annoying the way she and Booth were acting - all awkward and stuff. I guess it's a good thing Brennan's a little dense.

    2. Jack and Angela go out on a date that turned out quite well, despite Cam's predictions. Those two are starting to grow on me, but I have to agree with Angela that a relationship would break the team if something bad happened. I think it's hard to mix work with pleasure, and having a relationship with a colleage might just jeopardize your objectivity. But hey, I hope those two can work things out between them.

    3. The case was not that interesting, and I figured it was one of the contestants that did the dirty deed by the middle of the episode, but what did surprise me was the kid's motive. With the way those kids are acting - a mixture of childishness and maturity when it comes to their "beauty" - I thought the kiddie killer killed the victim to eliminate the competition. Instead, it was just an argument that got heat which resulted to dire consequences. It's sad.

    4. That scene with Booth and Bones at the end, while they were eating donuts. I had to laugh out loud when Booth told her she was "structured very well". I guess if you explained someone's beauty like that to someone like Brennan, she'd have no problem with beauty being objective. Plus the fact that (I think) she's unconsciously falling for him...I could hear her heart flutter a mile a way.

    5. Booth was leaning so close to her, I hoped to God he'd slip so we could all have some B/B goodness. LOL.

    Great episode! I missed Bones!
  • Happy, sad, sad, happy...

So I really liked this episode. My breakdown of emotions was as follows…

    1) Happy – when Hodgins finally asked Angela out, even though she originally said no after a bit of talking to the other girls she said yes. And their date was so cute. How could you not love him with the swing thing.

    2) Sad – when Angela told him that she just wanted to be friends. She could only see it going bad, not staying good. Hodgins looked so sad.

    3) Sad – when Booth and Brennan were sitting there sharing a moment and then he gets up to leave when he sees Cam giving him the eye.

    4) Happy – When Booth decides to stay with Brennan and they order Thai food. So cute.

Brennan being called a molester…so funny…she has no social skills sometimes…

HODGELA kissed!! I got soo mad when she said no to his date idea but I was SOO happy when she changed her mind!!

The beauty pageant thing was interesting and really clever. I was totally suprised at the end. I was a little dissapointed that we didn't see brianna's parent's reactions to her death. It was a pretty sad story though.

Booth and Breannan were cute together, as always! I liked when that lady thoguht they were watching they're kid! lol, maybe someday! at the end they almost kissed!! aww, i hope that cam/booth thing is OVER!!

i CANNOT wait for next week!! i WANT to see them "married"!!

like i said, my favorite episode all season so far. i've said this before, but his one takes the cake.

cam and booth were acting so awkward in the beggining. its over, cam. suck it up. then booth looked at hodgins like he was gonna snipe him. funny stuff.

when they were all talking about what they missed? haha that was funny. booth misses normal people.

This episode was great. The case wase really interesting. I wonder what will happen to the little girl who killed Briana Swanson. Hmm. There were many awesome b/b and hodgela moments. they went on a date! yay. but angela decided that it wouldnt work out... poo. Okay, sweetie, whatever you say.

The ending was my absolute favorite. Brennan and Booth were so close, it gave me goosebumps. I'm gonna go watch it again, I taped it haha.

A dancer is murdered and the team goes out to

Investigate as our lovely pair of Brennan and Booth see

But on an accident, at a ballet school to find the Killer as Booth I love as the comic relief in

The show as Brennan plays the straight person but on a personal note at the lab, Hogkins & Angela go out on a date as it goes well despite what everybody predicted that it would go wrong.

I have loved the show since the start. The cast of characters is blended so well. I miss the old boss. His interaction with the crew was as quirky as they were. Not sure how cam is fitting in except that she has a sexual overtone to her. Still liked the old boss's character fit better. I really love how Booth and Brennan tap dance around uncomfortable subjects. They are fun to watch. Maybe they can have a dream sequence physical romance which will appease the audience yet not actually put a serious kink in the show. Really like how the other characters are important to the show solving the mystery. It makes the whole show fun to watch. I appreciate that Fox stepped out on a limb for this show. I miss being able to watch TV and get away from all the FAKE realty shows. I can enjoy a fictional show with fictional characters who are yet believable and likeable. Reminds me of MASH and House. I also really like the advanced technical stuff. It helps keep the edge on the show. Don't know how much is real and don't care. Just keep it coming........

I loved this episode! Finally, a show that knows a little chemistry can go a long way...(Bones and Booth at the end of the episode...) This episode we also got to see a little more of Hodgins and Angela and the big fears these two "love players" carry with them. Honestly though, not sure how Angela could turn him down after that date. Hello? Doesn't get much better than that...seriously. Overall, just impressed with the acting- seeing "Beaver" and "Mrs. Kane" from VM- and the storyline which had me guessing to the end. More of this, please.
