  • The "Soap" of Bones

    6.0
Long-lost Mom? Seriously? Don't we have enough prodigal parents for one show? By the way, she's got TWO sons, why didn't she want to "share her moment of happiness" with Jared? The women who leaves her children with abusive father is not a person I wanna sympathize with. I understand the creators want to make the show more emotionally charged since Bones' life has undergone such changes, but they should balance it - the last season is like some soap with elements of "Ghostwhsperer" for crying out loud!moreless
  • What happened to the show I use to watch?

    4.0
One of the most wasteful episodes of Bones ever. I completely and totally missed the point of creating Booth's mom. I tried to care. I didn't. I tried to figure out why she'd show up after all this time and he'd just accept it - I couldn't. It got to the point where I simply fast forwarded the scenes because it annoyed me so much. I just could not (and still can't) figure out what the point was and seriously wished they'd just have let it be that she left. Too much re-creation as it is - just stick to the back story and move ahead. I would have preferred seeing bones and booth in a classic driving scene chatting about life and just shooting the breeze than to have this woman suddenly appear for no reason at all.

And what's up with a bunch of stupid women yanking off Booth's pants.. and Brennan just laughs.. ha ha ha.. so it matches the title of the episode. I'm not looking for a realistic tv show - not in the least - but I am looking for some tiny bit of character consistency - or even a tiny bit of intelligence rather than something that just makes the characters, WRITERS and the SHOW look totally stupid.

Please bring the regular classic BONES back.

  • Bones the heart of the matter

    9.0

Great acting of Booth, Brennan and Booth's mother. Booth is a very nice person. I would not have forgiven my mother easily. The case was well and there are always funny moments.

Hopefully the show will last for long time

FILTER BY TYPE

  • TRIVIA (1)

    • Goof: At the beginning of the episode, when the body falls over the forewoman, you can see that her clothes are covered with blood and tissue. But, after they pull her up, her clothes are clean.

  • QUOTES (5)

    • Brennan: (about his anger towards Marianne) Is that what your religion says?
Booth: Really? Religion? You gonna bring that into this conversation now?
Brennan: The Jesus myth is all about forgiveness, isn't it?
      Booth: It's not a myth.
Brennan: Absolution, our ability to transform ourselves. So you grew up suffering. In the myth, Jesus suffered, and he forgave those.
      Booth: It's not a myth.
Brennan: Please, Booth. Water to wine, raising the dead, walking on water, these defy the basic laws of physics. But forgiveness, that's its value. That's why the myth has endured.

    • Marianne: Seeley?
      Booth: I'm busy.
Marianne: This won't take long, and then I'll be gone. I can understand how you feel. I'd probably feel the same way. But kids make their parents into gods, so we can't do anything but disappoint you.
Booth: I really don't need to hear this.
Marianne: Yes, you do. I am no god, Seeley. I am just a person, like everybody else. I make mistakes, clearly, big ones. I should've handled this differently coming here. And there's nothing I can say to make you forgive me. But I sure as hell am gonna forgive myself, because I have a little time left. And I am entitled to try and be happy, even if it's just for a little bit.

    • Brennan: Did you ever consider stripping?
      Booth: Really? No.
Brennan: Well, you have an alluring personality and a wonderful physique.
Booth: Well, so do you, but you wouldn't strip.
      Brennan: I did.
      Booth: What?
Brennan: For my paper. I wouldn't be much of a scientist if I hadn't.
      Booth: You were a stripper?
Brennan: Well, it was only once.
Booth: I got too much going on right now. I don't need to hear this, Bones.
Brennan: I used fans, large fans. You would have enjoyed it.

    • Booth: I thought you couldn't handle a family, mom. But I guess that was just our family.
Marianne: No, I ... That's not how it was.
Booth: I gave you a pass all of these years, right? But you know what, hey, I guess I was just making it okay for myself.
Marianne: You know what, I thought about you every day!
Booth: What were you thinking, mom? Were you blaming us for the beatings? Is that why you couldn't come back and see us anymore?
      Marianne: You are being ridiculous.
Booth: Ridiculous, really? You come back here to get my stamp of approval on your new life so don't feel guilty. Well, get this, it's been 24 years, feel guilty.
      Marianne: This was a mistake.
      Booth: Yeah. A big one.
Marianne: I'll get my things, and I'll move back to the hotel.
Booth: That's the best decision you've made in a long time.

    • Wendell: I don't get it. I've been down to my last five bucks, but even then, I wouldn't take my clothes off for money.
Brennan: You know, based on your robust frame, muscular build and symmetrical features, you can make a good income as an exotic dancer.
Wendell: Then I wasted a lot of money on grad school.
Brennan: The victim was educated and had a successful profession.
Wendell: Are you trying to get me to strip, Dr. B?
Brennan: I'm just saying that I understand the impulse. It's a way to project power and fertility.
