Goof: When the grouper spits out the skull, the skull has all of its teeth as it descends in the water. However, when it lands on the bottom of the tank, a tooth was missing from the center of the mouth. Then later when skull is being retreived by Brennan, all of the teeth are once again back in the skull.
Goof: When Booth and Brennan go to the aquarium to look for the murder weapon (a Lion fish) Dr. Stoddard says that "Bob" is their only Lion fish -- but right at the beginning of that scene, there's a shot of a Lion fish swimming in a tank filled with rocks and coral. Bob's tank didn't have any rocks or coral in it though.
Booth: Uhm, you know, when we're done with you, uhm, I can give you a call ... and, uhm, hey you can go out with me or, I can go out with you.
Dr. Bryar: How 'bout both?
Booth: (chuckles) Hey, look at that. (Dr. Bryar chuckles too)
Dr. Bryar: Well, I'm looking forward to not being a suspect.
Booth: I am, too.
Booth: Since when do fish have husbands?
Bones: Animal husbandry is the science of breeding livestock.
Booth: Since when are fish livestock?
Bones: Well, the term can be applied loosely.
Sweets: Well, now,it's pretty tough to tell your average nine-year-old from your average psychopath.
Booth: Don't say that, all right? I have a kid nearly that age.
Sweets: Children are still forming their sense of ethics at this age. Like I said, they're basically sociopaths. It's true.
Angela: So I'm looking for evidence of shark attack and murder while simultaneously judging a photo contest.
Bones: You possess the necessary overlapping skills.
Bones: I'm going to have coffee with Andrew.
Booth: Alright, have a good time.
Bones: Thank you.
Booth: I'm going to see someone too.
Bones: Dr. Catherine Bryar.
Booth: Case is closed.
Bones: She's very nice. The two of you, seem compatible.
Booth: Maybe. You know, we'll see.
Bones: She's easily as pretty as I am. I mean ... using me as a standard.
Booth: Bones, you are the standard.
Andrew Hacker: (to Booth) I truly hope that you don't end up getting eaten by sharks because your successes have done wonders for my career.
Andrew Hacker: You don't get to be Deputy Director of the FBI by just dressing well and kissing ass. (laughs) Okay, yeah, that's most of it.

Hodgins: This looks like your friendly neighborhood gill raker.
Bones: (pointing to something else) What's that?
Hodgins: That, would be your friendly neighborhood gum wrapper.
"Your Friendly neighborhood ..." is a play on words, alluding to a well-known saying from the Spider-Man comic book series. Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) often uses the self-referential saying "... from your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man."
Booth: I'm not afraid to bring this guy in.
Hacker: You should be. If you value your pension, you should be.
Booth: Okay well I'm not, even when you sound like Yoda.
By telling Hacker he "sounds like Yoda," Booth is referring to the odd and mystical way Yoda, the wise character from the Star Wars movies, speaks.
Hodgins: I look like Richard Dreyfuss, dont I? "We're gonna need a bigger boat!"
This is an allusion to the famous 1975 movie Jaws, in which a shark terrorizes the New Jersey shore. Richard Dreyfuss had a starring role in the movie (as Matt Hooper), while Roy Scheider (who starred as Chief Martin Brody) said the line "We're gonna need a bigger boat!" after seeing the shark.
