I know that many reviewers didn't like this, never mind the Booth fans who hated Cam, but I personally think that it was a great and complex episode. Yes , I know that the crime was complicated and perhaps a little far fetched but the character development was superb and this is after all, as stars and producers say, a character driven show.

Camille - great character - and her relationship with Booth very interesting and spotted straight away by Angela. Loved the interplay between Booth (don't call me Seely) and Cam ( don't call me Camille). His ego in wondering whether she took the job because of him! His advice to her about protecting her team. In fact he was giving advice in all places, especially when he got Brennan to visit her mother's grave. He is really very protective and tender towards her and she does't appreciate it.

The whole episode was heavily Booth orientated giving us insights into how good he is at reading people. His description of the way Brennan looks long at bones before making a decision was very insightful. Excellent writing and character development.

Brennan's reaction to Cam was really a bit childish. She doesn't give people her trust either. Booth will continue to try and find your father Brennan, just trust him.

  • This is, by far, the worst episode they've ever done. The central plot is crammed into what space is left over from the subplots; they should have delayed one of the subplots. The new character is abrasive and unappealing, and I miss Dr. Goodman.

This episode definitely does not bode well for the coming season. First of all, they should not have attempted to cram the subplot of the new character and the continuing story arc regarding Brendan's family into a single episode. They crowded out the main storyline, the details of which became confusing.

Second, what happened to Dr. Goodman? I'm hoping the actor left for some other project, because there's no other reason I can think of to get rid of such a richly entertaining character. Third, which is somewhat linked to the second, is the introduction of Camille. I've never been fond of major cast additions to shows I feel already have the right balance, but this one is just egregiously awful. She's rude, she's high-handed, and she appears to think that the Jeffersonian staff is her own personal little fiefdom. I could go on for pages about how "do what I tell you or else" is not a managerial style that will endear you to anyone, especially brilliant scientists used to doing things their own way, many of whom could command top salaries elsewhere, but I'll leave it at that. I'll note that while I enjoyed the scene at the end with the DA, it seemed to me that she was defending her own power, not the team.

Fourth, is it really necessary for every female on the show to have the hots for Booth? Is it some sort of sop to the actor's ego? It's irritating and completely unnecessary.
  • The intro sequence is a MUCH welcomed improvement. The addition of a new female character opposite Bones is fantastic! This is going to be a very interesting season.

Pleased that Bones had been renewed for another season, I anticipated the return all summer. I was thrilled with the beginning of what could be another fantastic season.

The intro sequence is a MUCH welcomed improvement! You can actually tell which names go with which faces.

The addition of a new female character, Cam, opposite Bones is fantastic! The spark between Bones & Booth is present as ever. Now not only does this show have 2 already strong starring female characters, but has gloriously added a 3rd.

It's interesting to watch the cast's reactions towards the past love insinuations between Booth & Cam. Cam certainly holds her own & wows Dr. Brenan at the end. Bones triumphs as always gaining approval from Cam. This is going to be a very interesting season!
  • Well written, tight plot, some great moments between Booth and Brennan; all in all, a great episode to start off the season.

This episode didn't disappoint. I read the original character sides when they came out earlier this summer, and was expecting a good premiere, but most often I found that great acting combined with the new look this season, far surpassed my expectations.

The episode did a great job of setting up the rest of the season; as far as finding Brennan's father, Booth's gambling issues, as well as establishing the relationships between the main characters.

Any complaints about the episode seem to address the appearance of Dr. Cam and the absence of Dr. Goodman. I think this anxiety will slowly ebb away as the season continues. I think we're all just a little wary of change when it comes to our favorite crime-solving team. As for Dr. Goodman, we're all hoping that he'll be back at some point, and with any luck the our wishes will be granted. Even Hanson has expressed the desire to have him back on the show if possible.

Anyway, I'm up to episode 7 in the character sides, and I'm most definitely anticipating a great season; full of the usual tension/bantering, hook-ups, and suspenseful moments, as well as heart-felt ones.
  • An amazing start for a amazing TV show

    OMG!! I really enjoyed it!

Sometime had pass since we last saw our favorite characters and the relationship between Booth and Bones have really evolve!! They are true friends now and we can see it clearly. Both actors did an amazing job and it was nice to see how they are playing with their characters and relationships.

A new boss is around and we can see how different she is from Bones and the interaction between them will be a most watch on the show... hopefully anyways because I really hate the idea of her and for now I'm still hating her and it will be kept in that way until she shows me that I can love her (means getting away from Booth!).

The storyline on her parents was still there neither forgotten neither right on top so it will not steal the rest of the storylines on the show.

It's going to be a long agony waiting for the next one and maybe I will die during the baseball hiatus!

I dunno what to say but I really, really dislike Dr. Camille Saroyan. I mean ok at the end she is like " you don't put dirt in front of my door" but this is rather a " my door" thing and not a " I like this people andI kno they are really talented"

Also the main storyline was pretty flat to me. The ending was nice and saved a little bit of the episode but this is not what I had expected. Usually they have so many nice moment but this episode lacked at moments :/ hioe it gets better
  • Not as good as it could have been.

    8.5
    "Great"
Wasn't terribly impressed with this episode, a lot of the story and dialogue felt forced. More than anything it's purpose is to introduce Camille and the tension between her and Brennan.

The story wasn't the writers' best either, the whole faking his death thing to benefit from the plunging stock prices wasn't terribly original. Given that so much of the 'political' pressure comes from the death of a senator, we never actually see the senator and very little is even mentioned about it. Then there's the coincidence that the senator just happened to be on a train that happened to crash because someone wanted to fake his death, pretty far fetched.

Pretty weak for a season opener, let's hope we get back to the good stuff in the next episode.

In this episode of Bones, the following happens. When Booth and Bones arrive at a crime scene she is shocked to learn that she has a new boss (Head of Forensics) in the form of Dr. Camille Saroyan. Back at the lab, Bones and the team believe that the victim in the car was dead for several hours before the train crashed into his car. Inside of the train was a senator who was also killed, along with a handful of other people. We soon learn that Warren, the victim in the car, was a heroin addict. Booth soon has to tell Bones that the man who murdered her mother has been killed. When they investigate further we learn that the man in the car was not Warren. Soon the real Warren is found at a hospital, and we learn that he is not going to wake up. We see that Booth and Camille have a past, and everyone can see it. When they go to visit the pig farmer's killer, it seems as though Bones's father had him killed, as he ordered the kill. Soon Bones realises that Warren was in on what was happening, with the fake body, as the dead heroin addict had all of his jewellery on him, apart from one ring. Soon they realise that the P.I. was in on it and they arrest him. As the episode ends, we see Booth and Bones at her mother's grave, for the first time since the funeral. As she lays flowers, she finds a dolphin in the grass, and she believes that her father was there and that he left it.
  • Not my all time favorite episode.

    "Superb"
This episode is one of my least favorite Bones episode, though it's still a great episode, I was expecting something more. The case that Booth and Brennan had to solve this episode, was a typical Bones case, so I really liked that part of the episode. I was however less found of the other storyline going on in this episode. We learn that Dr. Goodman 'retired', and that Bones has a new boss out of the blue. I really liked Dr. Goodman and I was really sad to see that he was not coming back. And in this episode, I'm really not that fond of the new boss: Dr. Saroyan. Even now a few seasons later, when I watch this episode again, I still don't like her in this episode, even though I've grown really fond of her later and really like her character now.
  • Not a great season premiere!

I was expecting much more from this first episode of the second season. In fact the previous episode left us with a lot of questions about the past life of Temperance "Bones", and more over a total open case. Second season will answer for sure to these questions and solve the case, but I think that in this fisrt episode it would be better know few more things about Bones' father. For the rest, the show is of course always great and exiciting, and even if the main attention should be focused on the unsolved case, the story is interesting. The real big news of the episode, and the season, is the new "boss" of Temperance's team, a character that I'm sure will become worthy of importance.
  • It's not that kind of evidence, Bones. It's evidence to something else. Something that can't be tainted. - Booth

Booth is Bones human side. So sometimes I am agreeing that they should not get involved physically I just want them to be involved emotionally to each other. I want them to remain as each other's half completing their limitations - Booth his lack of forensic science and Brennan lack of human side

I just rewatched this episode and I've got to tell that it is as amusing now as it was the first time I watched it.

Booth saying that Bones doesn't intimidate was priceless!

I think they brought back everything the fans enjoyed so much in the first season... the cases, the squint's sense of humor, the drama and of course Booth's and Brennan's unbelievable chemistry.

They were still considering Brennan's parents' case which brings a nice sense of continuity and they included some doubts about her fathers' integrity that adds more to the drama.

Cam is a good adding to the show, she's a strong bossy character that certainly is going to shake a little bit the squint's world.
  • Bones is back...

Finally Bones is back. I had the feeling that everything was a little different, it felt weird. Maybe because I waited so long for the premiere.

Funny how Bones notices that Cam is flirting w/Booth, and then Booth telling Angela not to tell Brennan who he has slept with. It was strange to see Goodman gone and not addressing the situation. Cam... not good. Bad vibes, bossy, arrogant, know it all. That kind of boss that goes by the book and is never flexible.

The case was good, interesting. I liked how they combined the senator´s case w/Bones parents´ case. I felt bad for Brennan when she learned the guy in jail had been killed. I would´ve liked to see a little touch from Booth in that moment.

Favorite moment: The stakeout scene. Like that or more sexual tension? ED and DB have an amazing chemistry and I find it very interesting that Booth (DB) touches Brennan (ED) everytime he has the chance, mmmmhhhh.

The last scene was revealing. I like how Brennan allows Booth to see her vulnerable and how she dares do things she wouldn´t normally do.

First ep of 2nd. season and the show is still going strong.

    "Poor"
Ok good storyline but my pet peeve with this episode is Tamara Taylor (Dr. Cam Saroyen). She is not the best actress in the world and out of the blue this new character gets written in who takes over the lab, and Dr. Goodman just randomly disappears, what the deuce is that about?

Dr. Goodman was a good character and he should not have been replaced. Cam is really really bad at this role that she is doing and she doesn't have any place in this show. The whole first season revolved around Dr. Brennan and Booth, and that is how they should have kept the show. I am seriously disappointed in Bones now that Tamara Taylor is cast, I will still watch it but she brings the show down. Get rid of her.

I haven't seen this episode in a few months so, bear with me. okay?

This was the first episode I ever saw and it was very good! I got HOOKED!!! The mystery was intriguing and the characters were original.

Cam annoyed from the beginning though. She was pretty rude to Zach and Hodgins about the experiment. Is she at all concerned about the case??

Brennan's mystery about her parents also interested me a lot!! It's very original and it keeps you guessing!

B/B chemistry and HA chemistry is better than season 1 (part of which i HAVE seen). This was a great season premiere, good thing to get you hooked.

I absolutley loved this episode but what annoyed me was that dam Cam!! She's just another reason for Bones and Booth not to get together. Even though there was so much sexual tension between them, especially when they were on the steak out. I really want to know if Booth and Cam had a relationship before, or did they just work together? What is there history together? Does anyone know, cause it's really bugging me. I hope that this season is as good or even better than the first season. I can't wait till it airs in australia. It's a good thing that the episodes are available on the net.

I love how they didnt leave out everything that had happend in The Woman In Limbo. They still referenced it and everything, so we know it hasnt been totally forgotten. Let me just start by saying that I totall do not like Cam. She is such a snobby, controlling, annoying, flesh-pressing, ink stained, policy-making, wank-tard. Haha. Hodgins was right. The whole case they were working on was clever. And as for the whole Cam/Booth thing? I'm hoping it never exhists/never will exhist. I hate Cam. She is so evil. How dare she threaten to fire the squints just for performing an expiriment that would help them solve a case. INFURIATING! Aah. Now ive gone and gotten myself all worked up. Better go blow off some steam before I kill my keyboard. . .
  • Bones is back for it's second season and I can't wait to see where all this is heading.

Introduced the new girl - Cam - and I am really trying to decide if I like her or not. I keep on going back and forth. I like her voice, and the way she speaks. A little tired of the "two strong women fighting for power" storyline - we have all been there and done that. She could be a real asset to the team - if they can get over the conflict. I liked it when she stood up for her people. Glad to see the chemistry between Bones and Booth is still there (although I really prefer them as friends, I wouldn't be upset if they ever got together). Great start to season two.
  • A good openner for the season.

    "Superb"
This was a good episode for the begining of the season. It continued along the path that the last season left off. And it continued on the overall story, that of her trying to find her father. Although this was to be expected because it is the season opener, it still made me happy. It made me laugh when I saw Bones talking to the head stone because it was so unlike her. I really do not like the new boss lady, because I liked all the weird experiments, and now I'm affraid she is going to limit them. I also don't like her because of course Bones and Booth belong together and she is distracting him.
  • I really, really like this show.I just was not as captivated by the case they were working on.I hate to pass judgement on the new girl but she does not seem to fit or I could just be very biased.I guess we will see in the episodes to come.

I really, really like this show, but I am not so sure about the person that seems to be replacing Dr.Goodman.She does not seem to flow with the whole group.Normally I am really into the case they are investigating as well as the characters. But this episode only the characters.Dr.Brennan and Agent Booth really captivate me,the way they seem to dance around each other. And although the new girl does not seem to fit there does seem to be chemistry between she and Agent Booth. It will be interesting to see how Dr.Brennan handles that because even she should notice when someone is attracted to your wanna be man.
  • Interesting with added sequences.

    "Superb"
When I first saw that they added these weird flash back sequences I was a little turned off by the idea. I didn't really see the point to it, but as the episode progessed I found out that they added to the story rather than turn the focus as I had thought. I like the addition of the new character and I can't wait until Booth either rekindles the flame with the new Head of Forensics or gets with Bones, as half of the people who watch these show want. I'm glad they kept the same writers and the shows wasn't radically different, like a lot of new shows do to their second seasons on the air. I did notice they completely abandoned the Zack subplot where he hasn't finished his doctorate because he is wants to always be Brennan's assistant. But, all in all a great episode. I look forward to the rest of the season!
  • Great episode to start the second season..

    "Perfect"
This episode is one that would take many words to explain. Outstanding episode for the beginning of the second season. Dr. Brennan's mother is in the cematrey. A case that has a twist that you wouldn't beleive. And a new boss is in the building and I think she should be gone. I think she is going to cause a lot of problems later in the season. You just wait and see. Dr. Brennan will be jealous when Dr. Saroyan and Booth will soon get into a realtionship soon. I think?? I feel the pain that she is going through with her not finding her father. It is painful and heartful when she ask her mother about her dad. It seems kind of werid that she did that. I feel werid too..
  • As the team investigates a train accident, they discover something more than just murder. Also, Brennan has a hard time accepting her new boss.

    9.3
    "Superb"
    Ah yes, the team's back.

Starting the season off with a high-profile case is a good move since gives the team more pressure. Add to the fact that they have a new boss, which Brennan had no idea about, therefore causing some sort of tension.

I'm a bit disappointed Jonathan Adams leaving the show (I just love that deep, baritone voice), but I'm willing to give Tamara Taylor a chance. So far, Dr. Saroyan's not so bad. That calm under pressure thing she has going on is a bit intriguing - it makes me want to know what sets her off. And she's definitely got better people skills than Bones. Prolly the only time I kinda got pissed off at her was when she grilled Hodgins and Zack on that spam experiment, but I do understand that she's just trying to do her job.

Oh, and she's obviously got the hots for Booth. This is going to be one interesting triangle.

What I didn't quite like in this episode was the death of Vince McVicker, the suspect to Brennan's mother's murder. I think they killed him off to early. I would've wanted to see another confrontation between him and Bones, maybe she'd try to convince him to tell her what really happened, etc. Then maybe they could've killed him.

All in all, I think this is going to be a great season.
  • A great start to the second season of one of my favorite TV series.

    8.7
    "Great"
In our starting episode of season two, we have a number of things happen. The main thing is that Booth and Brennan come to investigate an accident where a man drove his car onto a train track in an apparent suicide, causing a huge mess and the death of a senator on the train, not to mention the man himself. While at the scene our favorite duo encounter Camille, Brennan's new boss. The moment they meet, we can tell that Booth and Camille know each other. Later in the episode, we learn that they had a romatic past. Obviously they aren't seeing each other any more, but they both still seem to be friends. Intrigue is sure to follow as we watch how Camille's character unfolds. Meanwhile, Brennan and the squints soon discover that the man who drove his car into the train did not commit suicide at all, and the team begins to investigate the reason behind the murder.

This episode was a great starter for the season. It went all the way from Brennan trying to call Zack 'Zackaroni' like Camille to Brennan standing at her mother's grave at Booth's request, trying to talk to her despite her belief that it is pointless to talk to a dead body. I think that the addition of Camille is one of the most important factors of the episode. I can only begin to imagine what conflict Camille will have with Brennan, or about the relationship between Camille and Booth, although I doubt the two of them will get back together again. Booth cares about Brennan too much. :) This episode was really good, and it left me eagerly awaiting the next episode in this fresh new season.
  • Wow Wow Wow i love it what a great start to the series

Well what can i say that hasn't allready been said. This show is great and this episode is a great start to the series. I really liked the way the new character Camilla was introduced, and what a great dynamic she adds to the show. To have throughout the episode that lingering question of why she was given the job instead of Brennan. The contrast between the two characters is great and adds a whole new dimension to the show. It will be interesting to see these two come to a pass in the future. I sat through the episode thinking "I like her", "Ihate her" but when she stuck up for everyone at the end of the episode that was when i knew what a great addition she will be. I only hope the show doesnt loose what makes it great, and that the current relationships are maintained.

On a note the part of the episode where Camilla came in and asked hodges and zach to stop with the experiment made me laugh. Mainly because when she said if u want hierachy i will be at the top, due to the fact the hodges kinda funds the place wouldnt that make him like the top as without his funding the place wouldnt be able to do what it does. Well i only hope there is more greatness to come with the show it has a great potential to last i hope it does this episode has not let me down
  • Definetely worth the wait! Great banter, a new character to stir things up and they hit the ground running this year.

I think it's going to be interesting to see the effect that Cam will have not only on the squint squad but how her past with Booth will play out in relation to he and Brennan. I loved it when Booth stood up for Brennan and her team to Cam ... he most likely wouldn't have done that at the beginning of last season. While I'm not convinced I really like Cam's character yet, I was starting to think she's gonna be okay by the end of the show. It's also nice to see that they are starting to develop more story and character arcs. It's what's going to make it stand out even more from other crime dramas where the case is neatly solved at the end of the hour and you never really learn to much about the regular characters on the show.
  • The focus was off the case and on the characters, which is all fine and dandy, but the explanation of anything was so incredibly lacking that I actually watched it twice to make sure I didn't just miss something really important.

    7.2
    "Good"
In terms of character development, this episode was absolutely amazing. The dialogue between Booth and... anyone, actually, but specifically Brennan, was superb, and exactly what I love about this show. I actually like the new head of department, though her introduction could have used a bit of work. But the rest of the show I had a problem with.

We start off with Booth and Brennan in a speeding vehicle having a lovely conversation about Brennan's time off when suddenly she asks why they're peeling down the highway and the sirens are on. An enjoyable scene. And yet, their interaction and the interaction between them and the new head of department and the fireman takes longer than does the explanation of what happened. Which is fine, normally. Character development. But they mentioned offhandedly that three people got killed, including a Senator, and then they go ahead and focus on the business man. I don't get how they figured out that he was behind it. All of a sudden it's all "he may have driven into the train, he would have lost everything in this lawsuit, he was cheating on his wife" etc., but how do they chalk that up to the death of a Senator? What did she even have to do with the case, aside from the fact that she was amongst the dead?

Needless to say I was totally lost from the start. Some parts I got, but they were few and far between. I hated how they lied to the suspect to get a confession and then it's a commercial break and suddenly they're discussing it amongst themselves. So why did they go through this nefarious scheme? What was in it for him? How did Walter end up in a coma? How did Brennan suddenly make the connection between her mother's dolphin and the ring on Walter's finger?

The further establishment of Brennan's father's case was actually pretty spectacular. But if they were going to have an episode all about the characters and that case, then they shouldn't have tried to cram this immensely complicated case in. I didn't follow it. I was focused on the expertly written and acted stake-out scene between Booth and Brennan. That stuff is gorgeous. But the main plot came second (or third) to everything else and that truly disappointed me.

I like Camille. No one's used to her character yet. My main problem with her presence is that Brennan doesn't seem to be fighting with her. She put the kibosh on her experiment and she just stands there and shrugs. Brennan has more fire than that. But I do like Camille. I think she's pretty well-written. I just hope she takes a step back and lets Brennan take the spotlight again.

I love this show for every aspect about it: the characters, the acting and the cases. Two out of three of those met my expectations, but for a show that usually meets and surpasses all three, the episode seemed below average.
  • Booth, Brennen, Camille? Intrigue is sure to follow!

Tight writing, verbiage and acting, the premier episode of season 2 heralds a terrific second season, one that promises to be even better than the first. While lacking the wonderful Dr. Goodman, I enjoyed the introduction of Camille and all the promise of intrigue and conflict her character will bring to the cast. She's a sharp cookie and able to hold her own beside Brennen. I also enjoyed watching Booth interact with both women, and am looking forward to the upcoming tensions! Can't wait for more!
  • Mostly well-written and an exciting case but I can't stand the new character!!

I loved the case, the science was fantastic. As ever, the chemistry between Booth and Bones is obvious. But why stop there? Why not add a maddening addition to the love-interest shelf? NOO!!! I cannot stand the new woman. Rediculous nicknames, and getting in between the romance that everyone has seen coming for a year now. Please just leave poor clueless Bones alone and get the flirt out of there, NOW! Otherwise, I loved it, great first ep of the season. Can't wait for more, but I hope I don't have to just watch it for the science.
