Episode Recap

Boone & Rome convince Nashville's top country radio DJ, WEL's "Rhymin" Simon Bailey to play on his radio show. But he doesn't like their style of music. So when they see The 4 Jacks loading their instruments, they sneak in & perform. Boone tells Mr. Bailey an idea to hold an auction to get listeners to bid for their services of their favorite band. All money going to charity. The winning band gets to perform @ the county fair.

Mr. Bailey likes that idea & decides to hold the auction between Boone & Rome vs The 4 Jacks. A faithful listener keeps bidding for Boone & Rome, that she's outbidded by others.

While the 4 Jacks get great gigs, Boone & Rome get zany gigs, performing @ a burger eating contest, a bar mitzvah, a hillbilly wedding that ends in a feud & singing to chickens to get them to lay eggs.

Squirt tries to win a bike by guessing how many pieces of candy are in a big jar. Alberta brags that she'll win that bike for sure. Alberta sneaks in during the burger eating contest to count the pieces, but she misses some. It turns out that Squirt won by using her month & birthdate (5/41 = 541).

At the near end of the auction, Aunt Dolly calls up wanting to bid $100! But Boone gracefully tells Mr. Bailey he can't accept that $100 since it's from relatives. Boone forfeits & The 4 Jacks win the county fair gig!

Boone & Rome visit the faithful fan who turns out to be in a wheelchair with polio. She's a writer for women's magazines. So they do a song just for her.
