Bootsie and Snudge was a spinoff of the British sitcom The Army Game and featured two of the long-running show's most popular characters. Private Montague 'Excused Boots' Bisley and Sergeant-Major Claude Snudge have served out their mandatory National Service, and find themselves together again, working at a swank gentleman's club, The Imperial, in Central London. Their partnership roles remained the same, with idle-dreamer Bootsie as a handyman and the bully Snudge as the head porter.

The original B&W series ran for 3 full seasons from 1960-63, with the first six episodes actually titled Bootsie and Snudge in Civvy Life. Bootsie and Snudge moved on to the eight episode Foreign Affairs series in 1964. In 1974, Bootsie and Snudge returned for a final, six episode color series that featured Bootsie as a millionaire and Snudge as his self-appointed financial advisor.moreless
