  • Finale- Part two.

Much better than the first part of finale, although it still didn't have the feeling of one. Alan's case seemed far to trivial for a finale, but it was entertaining none the less- and he was as effective as always. Denny and Barry Gold competing for the affections of Courtney was also funny. It was also very touching seeing Alan say no to her, showing how much he values his friendship with Denny.

The Denny and Shirley kiss was also well done- a very touching, end of season feel to it.

Brad's case with his niece was also done well- the history between the judge and Shirley nicely exploited.

Still didn't love the whole Marlene vs Denise thing- Denise losing partner was harsh, but as Paul rightly said, "this is a law firm"- she seems intelligent enough, so why didn't she realise this? It was nice to see Daniel Post back, however! I missed him whilst he was gone!

The end scene with Marlene and Alan had me in hysterics as well! And the end of Season balcony scene was also nicely handled.

OVerall, whilst not feeling the whole "finale-mood", it was nice to see Boston Legal get a full Season! The whole of Season 2 was a huge improvement of an already very good Season 1- earning 9.78 of 10 based on my reviews.

So here we are the end of season 2 and what a season it has been. I have to say i think this show is fantastic and this episode proced that. I think this epsidoe is better than last years final. In this episode Denny and Alan are still in LA and they get involved with a murder case. Meanwhile Brad gets his niece off for murder and Denise learns that she will never be considered for partner. That was sad i though. Anyway this was a great end to a great year. I totally love this show and season 3 is even better!

Oh boy, what a fun episode. I thought it was really big of Alan to step aside from Courtney, in favor of his friendship with Denny.

I love the way the writers add in little tidbits for the actors to say about the show actually being a show, and a series. LOL ... at the end. "Here's to next season"

This plot was clever and included many of the characters we've seen throughout the season (some of the secondary characters were left out)

I love the fact that MJF came back for the finale, and asked Denise to marry him.

I hate the fact that Denise found out that she wasn't going to be named partner. Sheesh, what's a girl got to do to get ahead in a company if they're just going to hire from the outside? (UGH ... welcome to the real world!!!)

This was a very well written season finale, I'm looking forward to next season!!!
  • The second hour of the two-hour season finale. So, what's next?

Why do the networks feel the absolute need to have two hour season finales? I understand why they use the "Cliffhanger" method of ending a season, even though regular viewers are probably going to tune in anyway next season. I'm really on the fence about this episode. Perhaps it was a little over-the-top, but not in a great way. The rivalry between the two female lawyers (the Squid & the other one) was pretty irritating to watch. I used to clerk in my father's law practice, and it was perhaps just as vicious as Denny's office, but a lot subtler. The women in my father's practice were ambitious, but didn't chase each other to the elevators, hoping to get a partner's ear, or rat each other out (as far as I could tell), or throw personal property (the Palm Pilot) away! I'm also not a big feminist, but the women's behavior was pretty demeaning. The California plot, wherein Alan and Denny had to defend a celebrity for shooting a stealth photographer was OK, but undermined by Denny's lascivious behavior towards his female client. And being the celeb junkies that we tend to be, the jury let Jeri Ryan's character off. Surprise! I really think perhaps one hour as a season wrap-up might have been better.

this finale leaves us with a lot of questions

it looks like julie bowen is on the way out, the combination of not making partner( since when has playing dirty tricks with your competition been a reason for that)bit lame denise was sort of shirleys heir apparent and gets dumped like a ugly puppy, hard to think that someone so smart would sleep with someone if it could cost her the price.

With michael j fox returning her departure seems certain

ik liked (as usual) the banter between alan and danny, they even refered to the series incl wishing that they keep the timeslot

the casting of jerry ryan was spot on, the connection between alan and her character was hot, the 2 of them almost kissing burned the tape

i am curious if they return her next season, must say at the end of series one i thought boston legal would not survive from the \\\"look at the hot women\\\" to \\\"funny but topical\\\" format, but they did

and when smart tv survives that is good
