A man approaches Alan in the office and tells him that he helped his brother to cover up the murder of his brother's wife. Alan dismisses the man because he does not believe they have any defence. But the man says that the defence is brotherly love. So eventually Alan agrees to take the case.
Meanwhile Paul tries to force Brad to sign a love contract because of his relationship with Denise. Brad declines because he believes it is silly to sign a contract. But Paul fires him because he is worried about sexual harassment charges that may be brought to the firm.
So Shirley persuades Paul to offer Brad's job back if he signs the paper and eventually he does but not before he reveals that he is very lonely and longs to be with someone in front of the Senior Partners. So this persuades Brad to ask Denise for a hand in marriage and she accepts because she believes that she might not find anyone else either.
Claire finds it hard to stay in a relationship with Clarence when he begins to use call girls to boost his confidence. But he tells her that he really wants to be with her but he lacks confidence.
So in court it does not go well when they really don't have any defence at all. Denny helps Alan to give a strong closing and luckily they win the case.
Later that evening on the balcony Alan asks Denny if he would help cover up a murder for him and Denny replies that he does not know.
