Welcome back to Edwin Poole! I wish he had starred more often in these, he was absolutely brilliant in this episode, full of laugh out loud moments! He gets the firm into trouble my taking the case of a fat man suing a cooking company, slowly getting Shirley on board. At the end, Shirley tells him he needs to go back to the hopsital. Its a shame, because I think having Poole around is a great bonus- I suppose the firms only big enough for one person though, and thats Denny.

Speaking of which, his closing was brilliant in Alan's trial as hes arrested for "misplacing" the client during his case with Jerry. The whole case was good, but the closing took the biscuit! The balcony scene was one of the best yet too.

Brad and Denise wasn't as interesting as the other stories, but it made for a fairly decent C-plot- especially the friends with benefits bit at the end.

    Overall- superb. Simple as.

Its been a while since we've seen Edwin but he is still as crazy as ever! This time he sues a company for making a man fat! But all does not go as Shirley would like when she is unable to dimiss the case. Meanwhile Alan gets put on trial when they find the man who fled from the courtroom a few episodes before. Luckily Danny gives a great closing an saves Alan. Overall i thought this was a great episode. Edwin was fantastic he should be in the show more. If Edwin is so crazy why isn't Denny inside too?
  • the law catches up with Alan and he resorts to Denny's form of nincompoopery to save the day. Also Edwin Poole comes back and is supposedly clinically sane although his actions prove otherwise.

I was actually hoping that the 'telling Mr Mckabe to run' thing would come and bite Alan a lot later than that but oh well they handled the story quite admirably. This was a moderately good episode, it showed that Denny can still be surprising on the courtroom floor, and put Alan in the shows of a defendant which disarmed him more than I expected. I hope that D.A. doesn't disappear I think he is quite a good adversary for Alan. That judge is getting to be a little overused, but I think he's still good for a little more shtick.

The Edwin Poole and Shirley Schmidt story line was very very good, although I hope this isn't the last we see of Poole for a while it's good to bring him around more often, his name is on the door after all and he makes Denny look a lot less mad-cowish. KI like the thought of court cases lasting more than one episode like Shirley's case against the sugar manufacturer will since it makes the show seem a lot more realistic and sometimes these big cases need more than just a portion of an episode, also I want to see Shirley spar more with that horrid woman with the eyebrows, that's entertainment.

Note: Don't forget to watch next week everyone Parker Posey Guest stars, I'm SO excited, she's just hilarious.
