how do i raise my level

    How do i raise my level here at TV.com so i can post reviews. I am currentley at 18% level 1.

    It is based on the number of posts, pages read, etc. I am not sure exactly how it all works, but you are helping yourself each time you post something.

    Actually they serve little real purpose other than showing how active you are on the site.

    I hate the hierarchy here.  I am level 6 so I try to write some episode synopses but the kingpins round here don't accept them.  Further still is the irritating fact that most of these bums can't tell the difference between there and their, what and watt, stare and stair, site and sight, etc.  So when you go to correct their spelling mistakes they get aggitated.

    a little taste of irony... i was able to go up 10 levels in the past month, but it takes a lot of time, or at least effort. You get points for writing reviews, blogs, recaps, submitting quotes/trivia/allusions/notes/links, for posting in forums, for commenting on the home page news stories, for being signed in for a certain amount of time, and for basically visiting the site every day. You get points for your meter, and you can also get points towards a certain show/person guide. If you have enough points in the guide, you can become an editor.

    A lot of this is explained in the questions search part of the site, if you click on "help" in the top right corner.

    of course the easiest way of raising our statuses could be to keep posting on threads like this about how little we like the hierarchy on this site, causing the wrath of those above to fall upon us

    Dont worry about your level. If you become level obsessed you wont have fun. Just do whatever you want and your level will creep upon you.

    I had a Mod reject a submission I made where I was trying to create the new/next episode for the show (for a mid-season show, the Mod didn't create any episodes beyond the first). So the week before the show aired, I tried to create it. It was rejected because I "didn't submit the Neilson rating for the episode." Hard to do unless you can see into the future.

    I've also had mods reject quote submissions for being to long, while others will accept quotes that are paragraphs long. There are no standards.

    I had one show that was dormant for 3 weeks. It was the one where I tried to create the next episode. The Mod didn't do anything for three weeks. Only after I sent a private message to the mod did he go back and do his job and create 3 weeks worth of episodes. Funny part was, the information he used to create the episodes was the same that I had submitted and he rejected. So basically he rejected it, then created it himself to get points.

    Some Mods are great. Other's are lemons.

    Oh I am so with you guys!  Especially on the quotes!  I mean when you see something in the same episode that you're trying to submit to that's ten or so lines long and yours is three, it's extremely frustrating to hear that it's too long!  Or another one I get is that "it's not notable enough".  I guess that's what you get for having people run the site lol.  But I sound really negative, there are some great mods.

    Hardly anything I submit is ever acceptable, it's awful and discouraging.
