    FILTER BY TYPE

    • TRIVIA (2)

      • Music- I Can't Stand It by Eric Clapton (when Jack and Shirley were having dinner at the restaurant).

      • Series star Candice Bergen and episode guest star Scott Bakula were co-stars for 3 seasons on the TV series Murphy Brown.
Series star John Larroquette and episode guest star Alison La Placa were co-stars for 3 seasons on the TV series The John Larroquette Show.

    • QUOTES (9)

      • Denny (to Shirley): Let me fill the void that I once gave so unselfishly to.
Shirley: You'll stay away from my void!

      • Denny: You know, maybe we should do a three-way. It's the one thing you and I haven't shared together.
Alan: (grimacing) Ahh. Denny, I... really don't think I can be... next to you on a bed while you're naked and sweating and that's as far as I can take the imagery.

      • Katie: Leigh. Hello. My, certainly seeing a lot of you these days.
Leigh: You see. That was hostile. I think she covets you, Jerry.
        (Jerry purrs)
Katie: Actually, I'm in a relationship, Leigh. I met the most wonderful, understanding and funny... iPhone. (she shows Leigh the iPhone) So sleek and sexy, isn't it?

      • Leigh: Katie. Hello. Is Jerry around?
Katie: He is actually. He's under my desk licking my thigh at the moment. (pause) That was dishonest of me. I apologize. I suppose it's not good to be dishonest, is it Leigh?

      • Andrea: I'm all for saving the planet, but sorry, I don't feel like getting cancer in the process.

      • Andrea: (to Jack Ross) Oh, there he is. I can't wait to be cross-examined by you. Don't be gentle.

      • Andrea: (to Alan) Well, it's ten thirty now. We don't have to be back until one. What do we do in the meantime? And I mean the entire... meantime?

      • Carl: So... Jack Ross.
        Shirley: Small world I guess.
Carl: No Shirley, it's a big world, actually. The fact that you seemed to have sex with everybody in it.
        Shirley: That isn't nice.

      • Andrea: Give me one week and I'll get rid of that baby fat.
Alan: I'm rather fond of my baby fat.
Andrea: Great. Then you'll love mine.

    • NOTES (1)

    • ALLUSIONS (1)

      • Toward the end of the episode, Scott Bakula's character says to Shirley "If only life came with a do-over." This idea just happens to be the entire concept behind Bakula's most popular television series Quantum Leap, in which scientist Sam Beckett (played by Bakula) 'leaps' via time travel into the bodies of others to change the past and "put right what once went wrong."

This is not the only in-joke to Bakula's television past. Bakula also played opposite Candice Bergen as her love interest in her previous series Murphy Brown. He is also just one among the growing list of Star Trek alumni to star or guest star on BL: Bakula having played Captain Jonathan Archer on the series Star Trek: Enterprise. (Other members of the cast previously featured in a Star Trek series include the obvious William Shatner i.e. Denny Crane as Captain Kirk in Star Trek: The Original Series, as well as Rene Auberjonois i.e. Paul Lewiston as Odo in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and Armin Shimerman i.e. Judge Brian Hooper as Quark in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine.)
