    • (Denny dances around his office) Alan: (knocks) May I cut in? Denny: I'm practicing for my wedding. Come and join me. Alan: Why not? Denny: No, no, no, no. Not on the ones. It's not a mambo. It's a feeling, like a heartbeat. Ka-chung, ka-chung, ka-chung. Alan: Shut up and dance, mister.
    • Daniel: Daniel Post. Denny: Denny Crane. Daniel: I'm a client. Denny: I'm a partner. Daniel: CEO, Kreisberg-Pellum. Denny: My name's on the door. Daniel: I love the offices. Denny: Thank you. I love your hair. Daniel: I got a plane. Denny: Indeed? Daniel: Could use a little more color, though. Denny: I'll make a note. My fiancee sells office furniture. Daniel: Congratulations. I'd love to meet her. Denny: My club, Thursdays. They serve Reubens. Daniel: I'll take you flying. Oh, by the way, I'd like to try a case with Ms. Bauer over here. Denny: Why not? See you Thursday. Daniel: Thursday. (to Denise) That's what I do. I make connections. That's how we met, remember?
    • Bev: And why did you screw him? Shirley: I lost a bet.
    • Shirley: But understand that everyone at this firm is considered a witness. Don't expect anyone to help you -- or speak to you. Alan: And won't that make for a refreshing change...
    • Denny: So, do you like her yet ? You promised. Alan: I did. And I do. Denny: I thought you would. She has many fine qualities. Alan: She makes my friend smile, that's the only quality that matters.
    • Denny: Alan, Bev is the woman I've always dreamed of. An angel in the bedroom and a whore in the kitchen. Alan: I think it's the other way around. Denny: Not last night.
    • Denny: (to Paul) …I left Bev on simmer. She should be coming to a boil rather nicely now.
    • Denise: Have you ever actually tried a case? Daniel Post: No but I've always wanted to. Think of it as the Make-A-Wish foundation granting a dying kid his fantasies…if that kid were a rich guy in his forties.
    • Alan Shore: And good for you, you've enlisted the one prosecutor who's running for D. A. next year. Tell me how big was your campaign contribution? And is there a matching fund here at the firm we can all go in on? Shirley: It was sizeable, and speak to Kim in accounting.

    • When Paul says that Bev could become Denny's "Nancy Reagan", he is referring to the wife of the 40th U.S. President, Ronald Reagan. President Reagan suffered from alzheimer's, and in the 1980's when he was still president was believed by many to already be affected. Nancy Reagan was believed to have a tremendous influence on the president's policy decisions during the later years of his term.
    • Denny: It's not on the one. It's not the mambo. It's a feeling, a heartbeat. Ka-chang, ka-chang, ka-chang! Denny copies this scene from the movie Dirty Dancing, (1987 with Patrick Swayze and Jennifer Grey) where Johnny tries to teach Baby to dance, but she steps on the one forcing them to start over and over.
    • During Shirley's time on the witness stand, Alan mentions she's "a bit of a low talker." This is an exact reference to the Season 5 episode of Seinfeld "The Puffy Shirt."
    • (while dancing a mambo with Denny in the lead) Denny: Hey, you're a natural! Alan: Anything Denny Crane can do I can do backwards and wearing high heels... A reference to an observation many years ago by Gene Siskel about Ginger Rogers (who used to partner with Fred Astaire) being better than Astaire in that "She did everything Fred Astaire did and she did it backwards while wearing high heels". There is some truth to this observation, clearly, but it does ignore the vast array of Astaire solo numbers where he did steps she could not begin to duplicate.
    • It is suggested that Jerry has Asperger's Syndrome, which is a pervasive developmental disorder, distinguished by a pattern of symptoms rather than a single symptom. It is an autism spectrum disorder (ASD), all of which demonstrate significant difficulties in social interaction and restricted, stereotyped patterns of behavior, activities and interests. However, Asperger's differs from other ASDs in its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Intense preoccupation with a narrow subject, one-sided verbosity, restricted prosody (rhythm, stress, and intonation of speech), and physical clumsiness are typical of the condition, but are not required for diagnosis.
