This episode introduced us to the excellent Clark Brown, who is one of my favourite judges in this show. Alan's clash with him was easily the best part of this storyline, and his manipulation of him will be key to Crane, Poole and Schmit's future cases.
It also led to further confrontation between Alan and Paul, which adds a dramatic element to the show, which is a must. Furthermore, it led to a very nice scene with Denny and Alan, where Denny tells Alan he wants him to stay.
Lori's storyline wasn't brilliant this time. Although it rasied ethical dilemnas, and was nicely solved by Alan, it really felt a bit like a drag, which is a pity because it was an excellent episode.
Nevertheless, it was picked up with Denny's humourous storyline about wanting to have sex with a one legged woman! The scene where Alan rants to the judge, and Denny simply says "Why would I pull over to the side of the road" was hilarious- the chemistry between Shatner and Spader is one of the best I have ever seen! The ending was a nice touch as well.
Overall, the first Season continues to impress with back to back consistancy, and a good range of storylines.
