  • Denny vs his therapist.

    "Perfect"
Denny's story was just brilliant in this episode- I really loved it! The dialogue between him and his crazy ass therapist made me laugh so much! It was also fairly dramatic, particulary in the court room. The barmy, senile judge also made a welcome guest return! Really excellent tried case, especially seeing a deeper side to Denny's character- hes not really a gun person deep down, it seems.

Chelina made a welcome return- her and Alan sizzle with chemistry. I wished they picked her up again, and kept her- shes also a good lawyer. Her closing was really touching, and the story of racial profiling very prolific today. Denise and Brad seem to have developped chemistry as well- their kissing scene leading to sex a sign of a future romance to come, perhaps.

Overall, the Season continues to perform its perfect streak- need I say more?
  • Peter McNicole what more should i say...

Peter McNicole guest stars in this episode as Denny's crazy shrink, who asks Denny to shoot him or he will shoot Denny. So Denny does as he asks but gets arrested and Alan must defend him but when the Dr. holds the court room hostage it becomes clear why Denny did shoot him. Meanwhile Paul and Shirley get ready incase Denny is convicted because if he is then they will remove him from the firm!

Alan also juggles a case about racial profiling and how a black man cannot be see in an all white neighbourhood. Overall i thought this was a great episode. It was fast passed and fun. Alan also finds out that Milissa wants to sleep with him... but the question is when. Another great episode only a few left now until the season final.
  • Great story with lots of funny lines

William Shatner continues to be funny as usual. Just the looks he makes in this episode had me rewinding the VCR.

The quotes between Chelina and Alan were too funny to begin with, but I didn't get the "old footage" comment until after I read that this was a holdover from last season.

I also have to admit that I was slightly concerned that Peter McNicol was guest starring in this episode. He already plays a character (the Buscuit of Ally McBeal) in this David Kelly universe (Boston Public/Ally McBeal/The Practice/Boston Legal) However, he was sufficiently disguised enough that it was acceptable. Though his throw away line near the end about his "brother is a lawyer" had me wondering...

The only thing that could have made this better would have been to see more Candice Bergin. She could have easily defended Denny instead of Alan and it probably would not have made much of a difference.
  • David Kelley picks up loose threads again, bringing back Chelina for a superb installment. And Kelley keeps his Alumns working by pulling in Peter McNichol from Ally McBeal as Denny\\\'s shrink.

After the show was pre-empted a couple weeks ago by the Ten Commandments I actually almost had a disconnect. I turned on the last Tom Selleck aka Ivan Tiggs show about half way through and was a little disappointed with it. It\\\'s funny how a tv movie preemption can show you that you can live without a show.

But, I\\\'m glad they came out with this one when they did. Seeing Chelina again was just awesome. She was in two (I think) first season episodes, including the wonderful program where Alan went to Texas. So the fact that David Kelley pulled her back to the tv series was a welcome surprise. The actress was a co-star in the Oscar winning film Ray and had a small part in the hit Fantastic Four. So I hope we haven\\\'t seen the last of her. The case she worked on with Alan was decent especially in light of the profiling going on toward Arab Americans (and others too).

The Story with Denny\\\'s therapist was okay a little too over the top. The nice thing about it was seeing Peter MacNichol back in the Kelley fold.

The Story with Brad and Denise was also a little silly. But it was nice to give the two supporting players more screen time. There best work together this season though was in the episode where Brad chopped the Priests fingers off.

Ultimately the Alan/Chelina chemistry and the usual Alan/Denny chemistry made the show memorable.

A great return to form after a boring slow previous show.
