  • Ridiculous beyond belief

This episode is a prime example of a discouraging trend I'm starting to notice with Boston Legal. In the early part of the show they would defend causes on all points of the political spectrum. In recent episodes however the show has relegated itself to promoting a sternly left message. This episode is no exception, as it attempts to indict the school system for a girl's contraction of HIV. Whether you agree with total sex education, mixed education, or abstinence only, the idea that any student who contracts and STD or becomes pregnant can sue their school is preposterous. The episode is made worse by the fact that the opposing council's are becoming increasingly ineffective. There is neither legal case nor cause in this episode, yet Allen, without evidence or legal arguments is able to win by giving a long-winded, politically motivated speech. A character that was once noble and innovative has been replaced with one who is preachy and limited in his abilities.
