Hey if you stil need the speech, I took down the text of it for you. Here it is:
Good Afternoon. Most of you here know that we are about to be hit with some very severe budget cuts. And um, unfortunately those budget cuts are going to cost us. Cost us very dearly. Now um, as an Administrator when having to make hard decisions about budget cuts, quite naturally you would turn to the things that would hurt you the least. But today, as a matter of fact just a few moments ago, I was given a different way to think about this by, um my Vice Prinicpal, Scott Guber. And he made me realize that sometimes, instead of cutting what is least important, why not cut what's most important? Ladies and Gentlemen, valued parents, esteemed colleagues, members of the press, I stand before you today to announce that I am cutting 100 percent of school funding for Varsity Football. And I'm not going to stop there. I am also cutting 100 percent of school funding for Varsity Basketball and Varsity Baseball and soccer and swimming and every other varsity team and we won't have sports. We will not have sports. But we will have our teachers. We will not have sports, but we will also not have 50 kids to a classroom. We will not have sports, but we will not have to strip days from the school year. We will not have sports, but we will have Harvey Lipschultz, and Marla Hendricks and every other teacher who comes here to work each and every day and makes this a better place. So, rise up woosters, rise up mom's and dad's of student athletes, rise up Superintendent Berringer, rise up Mr. Fields and yes, you too, Mr. Mayor. Rise up and especially you, Mr. Stanton, rise up. Because I have given you all the responsibility for protecting sports at Winslow High. It is because I have taken the responsibility of academics. And my valued soldiers. Thank you.
