Show Summary

Richard Richard & Edward Elizabeth Hitler, two men with no hope of fitting in with society. Two men who will forever fall foul of life's little jokes, mainly because they are too stupid to avoid them!

Adrian Edmondson and Rik Mayall take an anarchic look into the lives of these two friends who are forever threatening, and committing, violence on each other.

This series could be said to be a follow up, of a kind, to The Young Ones. Same stars and same attitude but the young ones are now heading into middle age.

A successful series that spawned three live tours [and three videos of these shows] and a big screen film, Guest House Paradiso. Although the film was not released as such it is advertised as a Bottom film on the video release.

  • Excellent comedy

This comedy is a modern one. Set in the late 80s to early 90s, this sitcom is about two men named Richard and Eddie who are unemployed and live in a dated flat in London. They are sex mad . They hit each other with things such as pans, pipes and chairs if things go wrong. They get into some silly situations such as getting stuck on a roof whilst running a shop for the day. It is surreal comedy due to the events that happen throughout the show. Richie is a stupid type of character in the show because he is silly and he also cannot cook. He also thinks he is middle class when in reality is a low class citizen. Eddie is a cheerful character who gets drunk due to the fact he is living with Richie who acts like a complete twit. He steals from Richie and he also spends the dole money that they have on things without informing Richie. Eddie's mates lack intelligence. The story plots are outstanding due to the fact that they envolved getting trapped on a ferris wheel, getting gas pipes from next door, going camping, forging money and forging themselves into an hotel in Wolverhampton by being Mr and Mrs O'Jones. This show is funny as hell because the plots and humour are excellent. The scenary is very good because it looks realistic expect for the background in hole. This comedy is an absolute gem and one to watch.moreless
  • Not so cool...

Bottom is the best situation comedy ever made. It stars British comedy legends Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson as two low life bums named Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler They share a flat, although it is quite clear that they hate each other, and this leads to a plethora of adventures involving crude toilet humour and violence. Its so funny I nearly wet my pants. Another great aspect is that Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson write the whole show themselves. They made a Bottom movie in 1999 called 'Guest House Paradiso' which is just as funny as the TV show. Watch either of them and I'm sure you too will be holding your side with laughter.moreless
  • Really Funny!

Bottom is a great show for lots to enjoy.

Richard and Eddie are struggling to survive since they have no money, they get into all sorts of trouble and they are just plain stupid. They get into all sorts of fights that a normal person would ignore and even if they did fight they would stop instantly but not richie and eddie they would fight for a while. the show had three series with six episodes in each one and a movie called guest house paridiso where they run a hotel that not even homeless people would enjoy to live in.moreless
  • Without a doubt the absolutely funniest show ever made.

Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, Beavis & Butt-Head. None of them can be compared to the brilliant duo Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. Everything with them is pure comedy gold. Like "The Young Ones", "Guest House Paradiso", "Filthy, Rich and Catflap". And of course this show, "Bottom". This is the single funniest series ever made. It's raw, violent and raunchy humour suits me perfectly. If you haven't seen the show, I pity you. Richie and Eddie are two losers who live together in a lousy apartment. Richie is the perverted, desperate madman who thinks he's above everyone else. He's quite the bastard. Eddie is the stupid, violent alcoholic. The plots in the episodes vary, but it's usually about Richie laying a scheme which will help him get rich, or laid. You know, I really can't explain it. You're simply gonna have to see for yourself. Mayall and Edmondson have such a great chemistry, and the cartoony fights are superb and hilarious. Also check out the live shows which are even more perverted. You gotta see it.moreless
  • Rude, crude and violent I LOVE IT!

I just love this show about two losers living together.

This show stars two flatmates called richie and eddie who just seem to spend most of there time ogling woman and fighting each other.

The humour is so outragoeus and anarchic that is why i love it so.

The violence is almost cartoonish in a way and so over the top that is what makes bottom funny.

There sad and pathetic lifes can sometimes be touching at times but mostly you laugh at the two characters pathetic ways they try to pull the woman and to improve there lot in life.

The show isnt just all about smut and violence the humour on the show does at times can be very witty and satrical towards modern life in the innercities.

A top show it just a shame they never made more series.moreless
