Bottom is the best situation comedy ever made. It stars British comedy legends Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson as two low life bums named Richard Richard and Eddie Hitler They share a flat, although it is quite clear that they hate each other, and this leads to a plethora of adventures involving crude toilet humour and violence. Its so funny I nearly wet my pants. Another great aspect is that Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson write the whole show themselves. They made a Bottom movie in 1999 called 'Guest House Paradiso' which is just as funny as the TV show. Watch either of them and I'm sure you too will be holding your side with laughter.

Bottom is a great show for lots to enjoy.

Richard and Eddie are struggling to survive since they have no money, they get into all sorts of trouble and they are just plain stupid. They get into all sorts of fights that a normal person would ignore and even if they did fight they would stop instantly but not richie and eddie they would fight for a while. the show had three series with six episodes in each one and a movie called guest house paridiso where they run a hotel that not even homeless people would enjoy to live in.

Jim Carrey & Jeff Daniels, Simon Pegg & Nick Frost, Beavis & Butt-Head. None of them can be compared to the brilliant duo Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson. Everything with them is pure comedy gold. Like "The Young Ones", "Guest House Paradiso", "Filthy, Rich and Catflap". And of course this show, "Bottom". This is the single funniest series ever made. It's raw, violent and raunchy humour suits me perfectly. If you haven't seen the show, I pity you. Richie and Eddie are two losers who live together in a lousy apartment. Richie is the perverted, desperate madman who thinks he's above everyone else. He's quite the bastard. Eddie is the stupid, violent alcoholic. The plots in the episodes vary, but it's usually about Richie laying a scheme which will help him get rich, or laid. You know, I really can't explain it. You're simply gonna have to see for yourself. Mayall and Edmondson have such a great chemistry, and the cartoony fights are superb and hilarious. Also check out the live shows which are even more perverted. You gotta see it.

I just love this show about two losers living together.



This show stars two flatmates called richie and eddie who just seem to spend most of there time ogling woman and fighting each other.

The humour is so outragoeus and anarchic that is why i love it so.

The violence is almost cartoonish in a way and so over the top that is what makes bottom funny.

There sad and pathetic lifes can sometimes be touching at times but mostly you laugh at the two characters pathetic ways they try to pull the woman and to improve there lot in life.

The show isnt just all about smut and violence the humour on the show does at times can be very witty and satrical towards modern life in the innercities.

A top show it just a shame they never made more series.

brilliant, Rik and Ade did it again! Everytime i am upset, i just watch it, it just makes me laugh so much! I love the Big Number Two Tour, it is just so hilarius! can't stop watching it, or quoting lines from it! I think they should do a comeback, one-off tour, maybe for comic releif, then that would raise a lot of money. It's amazing, how only two characters can make you laugh so much, but Eddie's friends also make you laugh! If you don't like Bottom, then you will have to watch it over and over, then you will like it.

One of the best BBC comedies from the early 1990's, Bottom starred Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson as Richard ‘Richie’ Richard and Edward ‘Eddie’ Elizabeth Hitler III, two average guys who are unlucky in love and like to beat each other senseless.



Only 18 episodes were ever made, but the Bottom phenomenon is still popular in this day and age. It won a British Comedy Award for Best New TV Comedy in 1992.



There was also a tour of 5 different Bottom stage shows, which gradually got poorer each time. Also, a disappointing movie was released in 1999, where those two are running the worst hotel in the world – Guest House Paradiso.



It is definitely one that is worth adding to your DVD collection.

Bottom is without a doubt a funny, witty, violence and often surreal comedy with plenty of gags laughs and bone-crunching effects.



Bottom Stars Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson as "Richard Richard" and "Eddie Hitler" as couple of bums with no life, no cash and no friends. Their life evolves around Richie's deadly concoctions of lethal drinks and cooking, getting hold of easy money and "birds". In every episode the lads always put their foot in it, ending up in a fight with the odd leg or neck broken...thanks to Richie's unbelievable and stupid plots to get hold of easy cash or women.



Fantastic comedy all round...

I own all the 3 series on dvd + the film 'Bottom Guesthome Paradiso' which is a bit of a let down. But the series are awesome, It would be good if they carried on now. But they have used all the best ideas there are. Bottom completely owned comic strip and Young ones. Young ones was good, but got boring. I, Personally think that these are the most humourous and awesome episodes of Bottom : Bottoms out(S' out), Gas, Holy, Burglary, Terror, Hole and Carnival



Carnival is a great end of the 3 series when richie and eddie are shot dead by police for having a video.I think Rik Mayall is an awesome actor, but Ade isnt as good.

1 of my favourite eposides is when rich and eddy steal taffy jones car on his wedding day and eddy dresses up as a women with his jugs on his back, and rich keeps asking if hes having his period its so funny! i like the eposide when eddy makes fake money and goes to the pub and richie asks for a pint of pernod and spits it out and says this is **** and when they play the quiz they defuse the busses, errr check out the jug fest guys! my favourite line!! every eposide makes me wee my pants! its just so hilerious! rick mayall and adrian are my favourite comedians and the young ones they make me cdrack up but i prefer bottom, the story lines are just outrageous, like when they call the devil with dave hedgehog and spudgun! amazing, classic!!!!

Bottom is a British comedy television programme about the unfortunate lives of Richie Richard, and Eddie Hitler. Two deadbeat men, spending all there time trying to "pull" women, but unsuprisingly are always rejected.

The programme features alot of comedy violence, and quirky jokes.

A brilliant peice of comedy from adrian edminson and rik mayle. A mix of classic slapstick comedy accompanied by a non stop barrage of brilliant double entendres and nob jokes. One of those shows that, although only ran for 3 seasons, can be watched over and over again and still spilts sides.

Quite simply the funniest tv show iv ever watched!.

The humour isnt complicated and the storylines arent complex but frankly that doesnt matter with humour like this. Joke after joke after joke hits you until your laughing so much your face aches.

The sad lives of richard richard and eddie hitler are a rich tapestry of toilet humour, cartoon like violence (which is inflicted on each other at pleasingly funny regular intervals) and wicked one liners. After seeing these two perform a live version of the show two years ago its also good to see how spontaneous a lot of the material in the program is often making stuff up on the spot to sustain a particularly well recieved joke.

even though the main plot was ussualy just beat each otyher to death, there was always a plot, ussualy to get women or money. i really love this show and i think they should bring it back, ive got every episode so far and all the live shows and the movie guest house paradiso.i used to watch this at a young age, 9 or 10. hat may be a bit young but even then i found it really funny, i used to watch it hours non stp and i still do. the two actors rik mayall and adrian edmondson are truly gd mates and hav known each other for many years, appearing in nearly every show theyve made together. includng the classic the young ones.

for all of those people who have never watched bottom i would definatley recommend that you watch it.considering it was released more than 10 years ago it still makes me laugh everytime i watch it, even the out-takes or as they like to call them "fluff" usualy i find out-takes boring and only funny first time round but "bottom fluff" is great and fummy everytime.in my opinion season two of bottom is the best with holy being the best one.also in bottom i really find it hard to think which episode is the worst, at first i found "contest" boring but now its one of my favourite episodes.and another thing does anyone know what christopher ryan's website is thanks.scott.

Bottom, like the Young Ones, before it, sets new boundaries for nasty, black, comedy. It's juvenile and sleazy, in the best sense of the words. It is quite possibly, the funniest show ever made, with the possible exception of the Simpsons or Family Guy.

Eddie Hitler and Richard Richard are a filthy, Slimy latter day Laurel and Hardy. The shows aired in Canada, originally on {surprisingly) a kids channel, YTV. Because of this they were badly edited. It was not until I got the boxed DVD set, that I saw the total hilarious nastiness of these two.

And as with most British shows they ended it with a bang. Eddie and Richie both get gunned down by an anti-terrorist squad.

Have all 3 series of this much maligned BBC2 gem that still to this day makes me laugh.I know I'm all grown up now and it shouldn't but HEY! we're all still that giggling little 12 year old deep,deep down right?

My favourite episodes have always been S'Up,S'out,Parade and Gas.The part where Rik and Eddie are pummelling the Gasman and midway through the mele the camera cuts to Rik reacting just has Eddie hits him again....pure comic timing brilliance.Don't get me started on the Wimbledon common dart gag!!!

Still holds up today and a much loved programme!

Rik Mayall and Ade Edmondson produced a masterpiece in Bottom. After the Young Ones who thought they could have produced a program which would build on their previous success. Blending vulgar boyish humour with slapstick violence turns out to be a perfect combination for men across the UK. The Episode "smells" is a personal favourite and one i watch over and over again

I think that Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson do a brilliant job of acting their characters, "Richie Richard" and "Eddie Hitler". No one can ever do a better job. They are both brilliant actors and comedians and they are a brilliant double act. It's a pity that they don't act together anymore cos they were really funny.

Fantastic! It began with the largely unknown Filthy Rich and Catflap, which if you have seen you will see how Bottom was born. In Filthy Rich and Catflap Richie Rich and Eddie Catflap would beat each other senseless and make sexual innuendo after sexual innuendo, the series lasted for just 6 episodes but through it Bottom was born and things really took off.



3 series and 5 live shows and even a film! Richard Richard and Edward Elizabeth Hitler really are two of the most revolting people ever born, but you can't help but love them as they wade through life beating each other up and getting themselves into ridiculous situations.



Side splittingly funny and easily the funniest thing on tv in the early 90's I used to rush home for 9 o'clock to see how they would beat each other up, would it be a cricket bat to the head or would it be Eddie smashing Richie's head with the fridge door?



No matter what they did one thing was certain, you would be on the verge of wetting yourself with laughter for 30 minutes a week. The show was so original and nothing like it has ever been done since and it has to be my all time favourite and ranks up there with fawlty towers, father ted as one of the greatest comedy shows of all time.



Do you like fart jokes? mindless violence? crazy storylines? If so Bottom is the show you simply have to watch.

I love violent shows (even tho i'm not to keen on blood) it's humour, it's violence... BBC's best comedy I say. Rik and Ade wrote to make people laugh their heads off! And by this, they did. My favorite episode is the one where they go camping. I own 1st and 2nd Season. 3 not out yet.

Bottom=CLASSIC! Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson are GODS! Apart from the TV show, they also did 5 funny and rude live tours, which was even more funnier, especially 2 years ago in Oxford. I was 3rd row from the front, and they were brilliant. Long live Rik and Ade forever!

I remember this serie as 30 minutes of laughs when it start in Spain at Canal+ around 1992. In those days it was shocking to see that explicit violence and language.

In some moments it was not difficult to identify yourself with that two persons, but in general the serie was based in the exageration of the violence and sex, and in show how pathetic a life can be in some moments.

I think this is a strange serie, as strange as "Flodder" or "Red Dwarf", but it's a pretty funny Serie, the characters and situations are grotesque, the two starrings are nasty and ugly... Maybe, see their awful lives makes you feel a little bit better.

Rik Mayall being one of my favourite comedians this show was special. The comedy from this series was one-of-a-kind and especially individual at the side of all the others out there. The duo of Aidan and Rik was brilliantly discovered from the previous show The Young Ones, and the way they kick the series off and end it in such a way made me and many people i know sad to see it go off the air.

Like the Young Ones it has a violent jest to it. Obviously Bottom is by far better. It has a laughter scale from 1 to 10 i say its laughs every minute. Its a good programme that the BBC gladly took to there channel station. May good strike me down if i dont laugh.Plus improving violence to another level is a good thing for me.

You gotta love this show. It was absolutely amazing. LOVED IT! Adrian once again (like in 'The Young Ones') got the better role of the two. He was even more funny in this classic than in 'The Young Ones'. I would have said 'Bring this Back' in the 'Clasification' but it is a CLASSIC and I couldn't say other wise. BTW, BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Take one love starved 30 year old man. Take another. Combine them and you get the old BBC series of Bottom. Rik Mayall and Ade Edmonson created one of the best British comedy shows in the last decade. Bottom combines your normal comedy with slapstick comedy and acts of voilence between Eddie and Rick are common. For a mainly two man show this show has a lot of variety and Rick and Ade play their characters very well. We can't help feel pity for Richie in his quest to get someone to "do it with him" and we can't help but laugh at Eddie when under the influence of alcohol. It had a rather long and fruitful stay as far as British comedies go with nearly 20 episodes produced. Those who generally enjoy British comedy will love this series and the Best of DVD is a must have.

i have the season 1 to 3 box set and do nothing but laugh from start to finish absolutly hillarious and it brings a whole new meaning to get's better every season each season tops the one befor.

This is something not one network in Britain can compete with. Bottom is possible one of the funniest comedies that the BBC brought us, and quite frankly, ITV and other networks cannot give one about making more. Reality this, celebrity that. My arse! Rik and Ade are one of the funniest comic duos on the screen now, and i really hope they return. Long live Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson.
